BC has the best player on the court but little else. Iowa is not great but they will be able to hang in this game due to BC's lack of defense

Miami is a talented team but I don't think they are ready to wear the big boy pants in this game. What that means is that they aren't the type of team that we can expect to cover this kind of line against a decent opponent...yet

** Clemson Tigers +1

I feel the tigers are the better shooting, rebounding and defensive side in this game, and I feel they have the better backcourt to help them edge ahead.

** Purdue Boilermakers -2

Statement game for Purdue for an overrated Duke team. Duke is weak on the inside and the Big 10 style of play will catch up with them tonight as they get outmuscled by a hungry boilermaker team.

I believe that Duke is one of the few teams to never lose in the ACC/Big Ten series. You would have thought that "the Big 10 style of play" would have caught up with them before now...

I like your picks, but I don't think Duke is overrated at all this season. Maybe in years past, but this team is deep and talented.

However, Purdue is a great team with a great home court advantage. Should be a great game.

They don't have a legit inside game. They may reach a final four with hot shooting, but when they play team that can defend like Uconn or Pitt, they are going to be in a world of hurt.

I was debating this with homedawg in his thread, but one reason I expect Duke to be very good is their improved post. There is no single great player, but Thomas, Zoubek, and Plumlee can make the post very tough for Duke.

I could easily turn out to be wrong, in which case you would be right about Duke having trouble this season. We should start to see tonight, and I'm looking forward to a good game either way.

Thomas is a solid 4 and Plumlee will be good, but Zoubek is a klutz down low and there is no help for that. I like Plumlee to become the starter on this team but that doesn't help them now. This is the biggest game for Purdue bball since Keady left and feel they are very focused right now. Duke is too much of a finesse team at the moment. They have some good athletes but they rely on the outside shot all too much.

well I know that but in the past they have had the big guys to cancel out some of that grind it out basketball. Quite simply they don't have that inside game implemented yet and I think it will cost them. Watch Zoubek and tell me he is anywhere close to being a capable player on a deep tournament team.

Virginia is really really bad. Small play because its mostly a gut call but i feel they get blown out tonite.
