I've had that same discussion with him in the past. He takes those words very seriously, so much so that it outweighs everything on the field.

They're both all-time greats, when it gets down to trying to determine prove who's the greatest of the great, people have to become contortionists.

I can't differentiate much between Brady & Rodgers & Manning & Montana, they're the best of the best over an extended period of time. Maybe it's that extended period of time that gives Brady the edge. I kn

Favre was great . Think he took more chances then most QB's also .think he had too. A lot of years those teams were average at best . IMO he should have got the 4th MVP with Minny. His stats were better then Mannings that year. the same I can say about Rodgers I can say the same about Favre , the coaches were mediocre..Holmgren way overrated , Rhodes , Sherman … Favre could have benefited with a Belichik to be honest..

I don't like Brady but I respect his intensity and competitive nature. As a sports fan it's so refreshing to see a highly paid athlete so passionate about competing. Even after all the success he's had. I just hope he can maintain the intensity and passion for it after what happened last Superbowl and rumors of him and Bill having issues and Brady maybe ok with retiring and walking away. Hope not. I have to think even if he was turned off after last season he's gotten his hunger back and can't wait to compete again.

Now that I think about it. I've been watching NFL for 2 decades, have Brady and Rodgers ever squared off head to head? Can't recall off the top of my head. I DO remember we've had opportunities in the past where we could have had a Brady vs Rodgers Superbowl. Can you imagine?! That would be hyped! Maybe this season? Patriots can obviously get there, GB with Rodgers always a chance but doubt it. Would be a wicked match up in the Superbowl. Saints vs Patriots, Brees vs Brady would be awesome too. Love Drew Brees. Brees vs Peyton was one of my favorite Superbowls.

I can't believe with Packers and Patriots both being so dominant in the past that we haven't seen Rodgers vs Brady in the Superbowl. Wonder what happened to Patriots the year Steelers made it. Can't remember. Did Steelers just beat them straight up? I'll have to go back and check sometime. Not that I'm complaining about Steelers getting there. I Pittsburgh.

11-12' Spanked by Giants in divisional round.
14-15' Lost to Seattle in NFC Championship.
16-17' Lost to ATL in NFC Championship.

10 seasons as a starter with 1 SB appearance. Incredibly weak resume.

In a game where 21 other people start for your team (not even counting special teams), to judge a player based on championships is a WEAK argument. Tom Brady is not winning championships with the Browns. Ever.

Sure, titles factor in. But should be way down the list when comparing the pure talent of athletes.

I agree. You have to actually watch him play. Not just a game or two or some highlights, but have watched him play throughout his career, whole games to understand how spectacular he is.

Also, you have to have played sports to understand that 1 player, no matter how talented he is, can only do so much. That goes double for football players where you can't even play defense (or offense if you are a defensive player) half the time so there's noway you can have an impact on the game. As a QB he can only do so much and the fact that he's one a Superbowl at all with that team speaks volumes. Same goes for Peyton Manning. Put Brady on those Colts or Packers team and he doesn't have more than 1 ring at the most. Take that to the bank.
