LG - 83" Class G5 Series OLED, vs C5.

G5 much better brightness, but my viewing is in a light controlled
room. Worth the extra 1k? I'm hoping one or more of you has been down this road.

I know wrong thread. Its Monday. I hope you'll indulge me, this is NFL adjacent

Ive had nothing but Samsung for 15 years. Wouldnt buy any other brand. Highest quality and longest lasting.
When you buy an 83 inch TV - buy the best. Spend the extra money.
LG has a poor reputation by brand overall in the last 20 years.. Nothing with that logo lasts. They sell cheap - but are cheap.

Anyone use a ST projector for their home viewing theater? I connected a Roku to my ST projector on my golf simulator in the pole barn which has a 8x10 foot enclosure and get a great full screen picture. Was thinking of going that way if I ever upgrade in the house.

Ironically, when my 78" Samsung died, Its mounted on my br wall. I bought an LG, 60 inch, and put it on a table in front of the samsung. /I know Samsung gets the rep. But I think at least part of that is the idea people have in their minds from 10 years ago.
I believe (right or wrong) that LG has poured money into R and D, and their products not show it.

If you get a chance look at the 83 inch Samsung against the LG OLED g5

The hyperlink above takes you to Toms tv review. His top 6, 2 samsung,m 2 LG.
I may have let my bad experience with samsung, influence me. Before deciding, I will look further. Thanks Gman and Wizard

Thanks for the input . BOL with the game

Sony Bravia only TV I'll buy

Sony Bravia is a strong contender for one of the best TV brands, especially for those seeking top-tier picture quality and processing, with the Bravia 8 II standing out as a leading OLED option in the current market.

  • Choose Sony if:
You prioritize cinematic accuracy, superior processing for all content, Dolby Vision, and watching in darker rooms.
  • Choose Samsung if:
You watch in bright rooms, want the brightest and most vibrant HDR, game heavily (especially PC), and value more HDMI 2.1 ports.

My Samsung is a nice tv. What I don't like is the constant sales pitch for all the movies and shows. It's non stop. Took me hours top get rid of all their apps, etc.

I bought a pioneer proscan plasma,1080P, back in 2002 or 3. Replaced it with the Samsung 2009. Sony was a dead duck. But they are showing up once again in the "best available" technical reviews.

Thanks to all.

Be careful. Just saw.....

Samsung - 85 ” Class The Terrace Full Sun Neo QLED 4K Smart TV (2023)

2023 model for "only" $20,000 at best buy. Plus the nearly 4k, for a 5 yr warranty, geek squad.

2026's out very soon. No way, I'd buy 3 y/o, in this era where tv's are almost ooudated after a year or so.
