i'm an occasional horse capper, and i hate the paramutual system. you cap the race, play a decent longshot (or so you think) and by the time the race goes off, the longshot becomes a fav. theres no way to anticipate what odds your're gonna get, unlike mlb, where the odds you take are the odds you get (am i making sense?)
anyway, today with 20 horses is very tricky. my angle will be to pray for a wet track, and look for a longshot who is a good mudder. try to get a speed horse with large hooves, is what i'm told.
a little bird whispers "nowhere to hide" might be a nice one, 52-1 now, but prolly will be 9-2 by post time. this sport makes me crazy, which is why i rarely bet the horses. but for a few big races, nice to have a little action. any other longshot mudders you can find?
