If he offered 20k on top that what would it matter if he wasnt gonna repay the original amount anyways. Which after a week of ghosting it sure appeared to be the case. I cared about MY money i lent him nothing more. In the future i will take what you said into consideration.

I think a good rule of thumb in the future would probably be if someone comes to you offering 500 in a week for 375 now then I'd probably leave it alone.

And if you do take them up on it because you're a nice guy or whatever, I wouldn't be too surprised if they're a few days late paying.

That's probably turning out bad more often than not, but again I dunno you or this other guy much at all so could be different relationship.

I think with thosw terms its obvious risk is assumed. Doesn't mean you don't call them out if not paying but thus read like you did him some noble favor. It is not a favor if you get back 33%.
