the loss of my innocence,

i graduated college in 91 and started working at a big six accounting firm in september of that year...as i was started to learn what a con job this accounting firm was and how numbers were someone fudged to keep the client happy (so much for independent auditors) the LA riots hit in the spring of 92 and i got in an argument with a partner when he called them a bunch of fucken animals....suddenly i was out of work and couldnt make my volvo payments (gotto love greenich connecticut), and for the first time since i was about 5 years old i had nothing to do....i feel on that spring day in 1992 my eyes were opened for the first time.

I would say the time period between 1990 and 1993 or so when so much revolutionary music came out, at least frmo my point of view.

I am always blown away by this list of releases...

Metallica Black Album, Guns N Roses use your illiusions, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, all within the same month or 2 in august 1991.

High-waisted jeans and flat shoes. Yech.

I feel you Panda. High-waisted, TAPERED jeans and flat shoes. If you are not a size 2 then tapered jeans are a REALLY bad idea.

The 90s also brings back memories of Notorious B.I.G and Yo MTV raps. Good times!!

Of all the things, I remember most January 25, 1998. Fourth and six, Favre back to pass, throws over the middle for Chmura, Mobley bats its away. I almost passed out, but when I came back to reality I joined the celebration as the suffering ends for millions of die-hard Broncos fans. I had to watch it in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium, nobody had tickets to sell anywhere around the stadium that day. I had 2 dimes in my pocket, I just knew we were going to win it. I bet $400 on the money line and $400 at +11.5. I would have gladly spent all the winnings and then some to be inside, not outside the stadium.

Damn that is true WB.

I had a Terell Davis Jersy and the Terell Davis Nike kicks. I had a matching hat that was blue with orange letters 'Rob Funk' stitched in it. I was all orange and blue. The Broncos were the thing for a while, no doubt.

The emergence of the Internet

It made millions of dollars for people (many of which then lost it all). Brought instant information into the homes of people. You can collect info on just about any subject thanks to Google. It brings together the collective smarts of everyone here at the Rx. Imagine the power.......

Oh yea, that and I got married........sorry honey.

Very cool Bill, and after last nights admission, I am sure you would have spent more than that :toast: ...glad to hear you have turned it around

Good point there. I hit "bottom" not terribly long after the Broncos defended their title. I never really faced imminent danger, just glad I realized I had to do something before I got there. I just did the smart thing in resolving to change my ways and then took action by calling up the credit card companies and negotiating. The 90s were mostly good to me though, all the money I spent brought some pretty damn good memories.

This might sound backwards to some people, but what got me into the most trouble was that I actually quit gambling full-time. I took a "real" job and it paid a lot less, but it was worth it because my hours were halved and I had so little stress relatively speaking. The problem was going legit meant I had more time and freedom to spend, but less to spend. I didn't make the switchover as well as I should have. When I was gambling I knew a bad run could put me in trouble so I was vigilant about spending and getting myself into commitments to spend money. Further when you are gambling or doing any all-consuming job like it, you find you don't care about spending money on other things much. Most people might think it the other way around, but my experience was gambling full-time was good for me, at least financially.

i think the 90s was a lost decade for music. what i remember most were the scandals and trends of the time. SCANDALS:tonya harding, joey buttafuoco, monicagate, elian gonzalez and the slow speed chase starring OJ. the TRENDS:gen-x,grunge,the macarena, the rachel haircut(friends) what in gods name were we thinking?i had that haircut too.lol.i did the macarena and that takes alot to admit to. i may need the shrink after bringing it up again.i think the early 90s finally killed off the WUBBA WUBBA WUBBA skank downtown julie brown.lol.what was mtv thinking? so what do you remember most about the 90s?~RG
90's lost decade for music. Freaking Nirvana was the greatest band of all time. I liked all of the decades for music but the 90's were right up there. I'm surprised I even made it out alive in the 80's and then the 90's came and it made the eighties tame in comparison
