The blame is well placed.
People with no skin in the game shouldn't decide the fate of the country by voting themselves more gifts from the treasury. If your life is so fucked up that you can't even put food on your table and a roof over your head... if you can't even manage your OWN life, how can you be expected to exercise the proper judgment to know what's good for the entire country?
Answer: you can't.
20T+ in debt is all the proof you need that the current modern system is beyond broken and corrupt. So simple even a child can understand.

It's not just the welfare queens, Washington is a cesspool of corruption, special favors, lobbyists, self-serving bureaucrats and academics, political consultants...all parasites leeching off taxpayer money. And nobody embodies what's wrong with this corrupt system than the Clintons having gotten filthy rich in politics.
Canning the IRS so politicians can no longer use the tax code to bribe voters and special interests would be a great start toward cleaning up the system. But only a start...
