I was told that both sides are not even talking. Incomprehensible. No dates are scheduled to resume talks. If that is true, why not SCABS??????????????

NO real need for scabs I would suspect. There are plenty of other hockey leagues around the US for the .5-1% of the people who actually care about hockey!

People would not support scabs anyway because of the other leagues

Personally I don't think the owners want scabs, they want the real thing but at salaries where they can make money. The big bone of contention is a salary cap, which is what has allowed the NFL to do so well. Even baseball with it's out of sight salaries has a cap, break the cap and you pay a fine. Some owners make enough to be able to afford the fines (Yanks, Red Sox for example). Hockey however doesn't have a big TV contract like the NBA for example so money is tight but the players want to earn the same as the other 3 big time sports. Unfortunately the finanacial facts just don't add up - thus the lockout.

I agree Weeky.....there should be at least scabs playing ...there is minor league hockey I ago to at times and you can sometimes get a glimpse of some NHL players playing and keeping in shape but its not the same

I would watch scabs play -- the arena in Buffalo sold out the Amerks game (minor league team from Rochester)..

btw - Rob Ray is the only true sportsman in the league.

I was just becoming a more serious hockey fan and I read that the player reps have told players to sign a contract where they can. Doesn't look good for sure. Really hard to believe.

"why not SCABS??????????????"

they cant fill the arena's as it was. Scabs are not the awnser. The awnser is these foreign phucks like Chris Pronger should play for $500k a year or get the phuck out of the country. Nobody in hockey should make more than 1 million a year period. Hockey players are pussies. Stick a gun to their head and they will start crying. Hell half the NBA and NFL players carry guns.

My daughter gave me the Vikes. Comical thing is that I lost more on that game than you make in 10 years, and I am still going to disneyland as there is PLENTY more where that came from, just ask the Shrink. :lolBIG: :dancefool :dancefool :smoker2:

Kiss,

Why do you always try and antagonize the ALKI?

When I used to practice Psychiatry, I would have interpreted this to mean that you have some homophobic feelings for him...

Do you? :digit:

Dante,

I have been with him to Vegas and Costa Rica for starters. He sometimes loses more in one week than most people make in one year...

And that's a FACT...

Any thoughts from your perspective as to when hockey will be back? Also, do you have an opinion as to whether the net will be widened. Most people I have spoken to believe that widening the net would save the sport. More scoring = more fan interest. I wonder if they will ever consider it?

thanks for your kinds words Dante. After meeting you at last year's party, I was quite impressed with you. You are irrefutably one of the "real" assets here. :103631605 :toast:
