A RAVE ABOUT PINNACLE...

Not that they need another rave, but I had to share this story to show what type of s first class sports book they truly are...

I was in their casino late last night playing Black Jack. Unfortunately, my computer froze up on me when I had a 500 dollar hand bet. I couldn't do a thing, and I was afraid of shutting down my laptop for fear of automatically losing the hand. Now the cards had yet to be dealt to me or the dealer, but the bet was out there...

So I called Pinnacle up, but there was no one there at the time that knew what to do regarding this situation.

Well, the next thing I know, I am connected to the man who had actually written the entire Black Jack program for Pinnacle. He had been woken up at his home!!!

He immediately instructed me on what to do and everything turned out perfectly as he guided me through this situation...

Unfortunately, I did lose that hand but won for the session...

A BIG thank you to Pinnacle for going the extra mile here...

Try and understand that the lack of phone costs is apart of their ability to offer the reduiced juice that they do. I do have a number for Pinnacle and the only time I have used it is to report issues that arise regarding their book just as I do with about every book that advertises here and many times non-advertisers as well. Other than, I play by the rules like everyone and accept the reduiced vig.

Call me a cynic, but I am sure you made them aware of who you were, and what you do.

I am also sure they know your reputation.

So what would they rather have this morning a "Rave About Pinnacle" or "Pinnacle Casino Isn't All Its Cracked Up To Be" post?

BTW I am sure had you lost $500 due to the crashing of the system, or your computer freezing, the title of the alternative post might not have been so politically correct.

Places go out of their way for certain people, the ol' you scrtach my back I scratch your cliche'. They might actually do what you say for certain people, but 99% of their customers don't even have their phone number.

So how does what you relate here actually help the average bettor?

It is almost akin to a foriegn dimplomat going back to his country and saying "I parked everywhere, and got thousands of tickets, but didn't have to pay any of them. America what a beautiful country". Conveniently forgetting to mention he had diplomatic immunity, and could have pretty much gotten away with murder if he wanted to.

It all depends on who you are, and what you can do,that generally determines the extent of customer service. Even then the MOST stout Pin backer will tell you their customer service sucks. So this post is basically all fluff. No offense.

If that comment is in reference to my post, then let me ask you a couple questions...

How many customers do you think Pin has?
How many of those customers even have their phone number?
How many would have gotten the responce you did?

I don't know the answers to your questions but if you do a SEARCH on all the POSTS ever made in this forum, I doubt you will find a book that gets more praise, period....

And I suspect most of them would be considered the "little guy" by your standards...

I think I understand what you are trying to say, Moi.....I doubt they would have woken up their techie for a "regular player"....but the things the DO do for regular players still make them one of the undisputed top 3 books online.

Of COURSE Shrink got over-the-top service from them because of Rx......that is just smart business......and not extending that exact level of service to everyone else doesn't diminish what a class act they are.

I don't have to do the search, I see them everyday. I have also seen a few that were not so positive.

Pinnacle is a good book, no question, but they are still a book. So other than taking bets, and paying you, what more is there? I mean they are getting all the accolades for doing what they are supposed to do. That is how bad the foriegn/offshore reputation is. ANY book that takes your bets, posts lines at reasonable times, and pays you when you win is put on a pedastal. I just don't get it.

I have seen more than a few posts on here about how Pinnacle is 'unbeatable', so why are they so popular and so prolific? If no one can beat them then they should be suffering. It is one of the greatest juxtapositions I have ever seen.

That is why I see no need for another post, from you of all people putting them up on a pedastal once again. Especially in an area where they have proven time and again not to show too much concern for...customer service.

Of course to you they are great, they treated you like a king. I myself have never had any situations that I thought were mishandled, but I am also not so easilly fooled into thinking that they are extra special, lovey dovey, tuck you into bed at night sweet either.

They are a BUSINESS, just as you and this site is a BUSINESS. I am sure their action towards you were more business than service, just as when you post something that may or may not be the most sincere, that is generally more business, than sincerity.

This isn't a criticsim of you or Pinnacle, it is just that most vets have seen it all before. It isn't hard to connect the dots.

IMO Pinnalce doesn't need any more exposure, they get more free pub on the forums than all the other places combined, but other than being 'unbeatable', and offering very low holds, are they THAT much better than some of the other top books out there? I am not convinced they are.

They are not located in Costa Rica, and that is the major reason I play there. But I will add a caveat, that they are now having western unions sent to a CR location rather than the Suriname location they used to. I don't western union them, but I have read enough and heard enough to know that this is the case.

They have also had issues lately with bad lines, and taking down numbers and cancelling bets. So there are definately chinks in the armor, but they are 'mortal' so to speak. So every time I see something that is over the top about them it irks me a little.

People that deal with them on a daily basis, and watch their lines day in and day out sees the mistakes. but all books make mistakes like this from time to time. So it is no biggie, but it also make Pinnacle just like any other book, BECAUSE they make the saem errors everyone else does.

Actually Pinnacle has a phone number posted on their website. And additional phone numbers, including toll free, can be obtained via email request. They are extremely fast in responding to emails 95% of the time.
