A perspective on Pinnacle/Olympic's new tennis rules

I'm no "sharp" but my experience in tennis betting tells me this.

Do not bet big dogs at Pinn/Oly because of the new tennis rules. The new rules are in favor of the favorites and when an injury or fake injury happens it is usually the spoiled favorite simply willing not to play. Most underdogs will play with alot more heart even if hurt because they have something to prove.

If you want to bet the dog goto 5dimes, bet365(dog lines been decent lately, favorites have been poor) or somewhere else.

If you want to bet the favorite the pinnacle/olympic should be your first out because if Clijsters is going to lose to someone that is ranked in the 200's it's likely going to be due to injury than skill.

How about Miss steroid queen Justine Henin, faking a blister injury and icing Clijsters after she lost the 1st set. If she goes down a break in 2nd set she is a lock to def, instead she came back and won.

i agree railbird. On my soccer teams people on losing teams are "always hurt" but on the winning teams guys will play with sprained ankles.. Our mens outdoor game was playing for the league championship and i had a sprained ankle that i could barely walk on let alone run. I taped it up and played.. i got taken out in the 75th minute or so on a vicious slide tackle and had to sit out the game. We lost 2-1 but when you want to win, you play through pain because you love the game.

AHH, I think you all are talking about the new tennis rule I saw on Canbet which says that if a player retires the bet is no action. I think the rule is Bullshit. It should be like betting a starting pitcher, the bet stands after the first pitch is thrown by your listed pitcher(s).

The rule is treating the completion of the match the same way a baseball total is treated where 8.5 innings must be achieved for the bet to stand. Since it's a one on one sport and no bench to go to then it does make sense to me why a rule like this can excist. I got beat to it today but I understand the rationale from a books standpoint. Afterall they are not in business to lose money and especially on an uneven playing field which tennis surely can be every week.
