I am sure Shrink and the powers that be on this site will see this thread, Please give your ideas as to what this site should look for BEFORE adding a book he the recommend list.

I am thinking before the PROVE themselves to an extent they should be on a temporary list of some kind, but to even get on that list a minimum of things should be checked out. Lost your ideas for this please.

thank you for your feedback

Mostly what Buzzsaw said: "a one-year waiting period". I will add this: a financial arrangement in advance with a top-tier book, such as betjamaica has with Olympic.

As to a temporary list: I have no feedback. Short of opening the books to an outside agency to prove they aren't a low-funded turn-key operation, any assurance from a book almost poised to fail is pointless to me. GA proved that.

You should be looking to see if they will pay their ad bill up front.

That's it. It is beyond a joke that grown men will hold an incredulous guy like Shrink accountable for where they send their hard earned $$$.

A book should have three football seasons under it's belt or, as jazz said, the financial backing/guarantee of a top book.

Does someone have a count on Rx failures?

I think if we went down the list of 13 or so books that have gone bellyup while being recommended by the Rx that that 10 were books opened less than one year.

Thanks Jazz.

Shrink ole buddy, the stats don't lie. "A" books will appreciate not having to sit beside Goliath or Wagerparadise or my favorite...GrandMaster Sports.

PS - may even be able to charge more when top books see some selectivety

What to look for is simple. Implementing it is a bit more difficult.

Have the book provide proof that the players' funds will be kept in a separate escrow account, and can't be touched without the approval and sign-off of a completely independent third party. That independent third party can monitor that escrow account and provide monthly updates to assure players that the book stays in compliance.

Samurai..nice to see you around!!!
You just got a mention at the other joint as one of the posters that has been missed!!

The best way that I can think of is references!!
IF the XYZ book wants to advertise have them provide a list of people as references.
If current longterm book owners know the new guy that would be a good start...

Personally I think the biggest problem with the new books is that they want to book HIGH right out of the gate!!
This business is a grind from both sides of the counter. So money management has to be a big factor in the daily operation.

Hell at ALL books the number of clients who bet more than a dime a game is around 2%!!!
So if you're taking more than $1000 a game, then your books are always gonna be out of whack if you can't manage the sheet!!

Any book who pays for a banner or link should be allowed to advertise on this and any other site. That doesn't mean they belong on recommended lists or should be shilled by forum moderators. The gambling portal of course is obligated to display a disclaimer that an advertisement for a book is not an endorsement.

Any book less than a year in bus. shouldn't be offering more than $100/150 max bonus. Whether it's sign up, re-up, matchplay etc.

Any book offering more than this and wanting to advertise here, Shrink should should hv some questions to ask the book's operators. Just my opinion...

I think few requirements to advertise, but strong history and backing for a recommendation. After all advertising is a way of life everywhere, you can't imply that an advertiser has been checked out and is thoroughly approved of by a site. Maybe add a disclaimer to that effect, but recommended books should be held up to a much higher standard and yes I would agree some amount of waiting time.

Nice to see you too. You took a little break from posting, eh?

As far as the other joint goes, they couldn't pay me enough to post at that House of Fraud. Well, actually I guess they could....but they'd run out of money pretty quickly.

There are people in this industry who are in the know and it would be very cool if they could form a group that would oversee all of the importants pertaining to books. If a book would want to advertise on this site, then that group should oversee the information that could result in ads. Not sure what all of that would be. Not easy to do for sure. Also, it could result in a monopoly of a certain group although if that increased the safety of all players, it may be acceptable.

If a new book pops up in here and wants to sponsor a contest I suggest that the Rx open a separate escrow account to hold the prize funds. The book might screw us out of our post up money but at least we won't have to worry about the prize funds.
