as of Jan 28,2009 paypal has decided that it will now hold the money buyers send to you through paypal

paypal demands you ship your items....BEFORE YOU GET PAID
lmao.gif

they state that after you receive positive feedback....and it shows (if you buy a shipping label thru paypal) that the item has been delivered...the funds will be released

this is a flat out lie...as I just recently sold something for a small amount $200...I received positive feedback...and its shows through UPS tracking the item was delivered....THE FUNDS WERE STILL ON HOLD BY PAYPAL

doing a little more research I came to find out that paypal reserves the right to hold the funds for UP TO 180 DAYS...until they deem its ok to release them to you...regardless if the buyer has already recieved your items...even after the 180 days...there is still no guarantee you will receive the funds

speculation around this new policy centers around paypal holding millions of dollars and collecting interest on the side while the funds are in a freeze...who knows

well after doing to searching I stumbled around a little 'magic trick' to take the funds off of hold...and make them available instantly

this is more like a one time 'magic trick' because im sure paypal wont be too happy you are telling them to take their fraudulant scam and shove it up their ass...and your acct will be terminiated

in hindsight...I find it quite hilarious they would be upset for gaining access to what it rightfully yours...but in any event...dont be surprised if you do this....that your paypal acct will be closed

myself personally...I dont give a rats ass as im done with paypal and ebay all together...yes there are some good deals as a buyer...but you have to dig deep...as ebay caters now to power sellers and not to everyday people..they cater to scam artists who sell bulk junk from hong kong...and regular people selling stuff...get their funds held and are told to ship out their items before getting the money...wTF?

so anyway...if you ever go to your paypal account...and you see a hold placed on funds for a item you sold...and you know its been delivered..and you know the buyer is happy...then all you need to do is this little 'magic trick' to get the funds taken off hold...you wont find this information on the ebay forums...if you post it there...you will be banned on sight and the post removed

what you need to do...is...do a partial refund to the person who sent you the payment....myself...I refunded the buyer like 50 cents....AND BAM FUNDS WERE TAKEN OFF HOLD AND WERE INSTANTLY AVAILABLE

I have the paypal debit card so I was able to run down to the ATM and get my coin...if you dont have the debit card...you should be able to withdraw to your bank...im sure many of you know paypal employees are nothing short of adults with down syndrome...and by the time they get around to your acct...you should have your money

I also recommend taking all credit cards and current bank accounts off file with paypal after doing this (that includes canceling any debit card with your bank that you have on file with paypal AND closing your current bank acct and reopening a new one with different acct numbers and routing numbers)...like I said..this is a one time thing for the people that have no idea about what paypal is doing...this is for the people that want to get their money and run far away from these scammers

I wouldnt put it past these fraudulent 3rd world non english speaking pieces of trash....them going into your acct when you werent looking and taking YOUR MONEY AWAY FROM YOU AFTER YOU EXPLOIT THIS GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM

this has been a public service announcement from your good friend here at the RX...Point Given...always looking out for the little people

The guy on Ebay who scammed me was verrrrrryyy slick.

I payed for the item, which he never sent.

So, I filed the complaint with Paypal.

One of Paypal's first steps in settling the process is directing the seller to prove they did send the package. That would mean providing a legit shipping number, etc.

Days go by, and as I arrive home the UPS truck is just pulling into my yard as well. He gives me a box and I sign for it. Normal procedure as I was getting packages about once a week around that time.

I open the box, and that's exactly what it is...........A Box.........An EMPTY box.

Suddenly it hit me.

This guy sends me an empty package just so he can get confirmation that he did send it and I did indeed receive it, because I signed for it!

Huge flay in Paypal's system which could be used to scam tons of people.........:>(

My wife sells on Ebay, but I guess because she has been a Powerseller for 4+ years, they never hold any Money.

But I did read something like this above, late last year that it was coming to this.

I think one of the reasons was what Hache man went through.

Hache, what you should of done was Take that Box and Send it back to that Person. ( With Delivery Confirmation ) Then you would have had a Case.
That you Returned it for a Refund. Paypal would have Refunded Your Money in a Heart Beat !

FWIW i always thought this was too big a glitch in Paypals way of reviewing cases like this.

They always check to see if it was shipped, but from what happened to you its sooo easy to get scammed.

I see no way you could not have gotten scammed once the "seller" decided to cheat you.

You have his information?

Check to see if it matched PO69's info :dancefool

Anyone who sells on Ebay and collects funds via paypal, save your shipping receipts for up to 1 year.

You made them in case the buyer disputes the charge and that may not even do you any good, as I had proof of delivery of an item and paypal still reversed the funds and gave them back to the seller as they claimed the item was not received.

Looks like the paypal hold rule applies to sellers with less than 20 detailed sellers ratings in last year and have a average dsr score of 4.5 or less.

I sold a few golf clubs on there last year and was put on hold until my items were delivered.

All I had to do was enter the tracking number at paypal and when the clubs arrived, paypal released my funds.

It took an extra week to get the money. Didn't think it was that big of a deal.

Sold a set of irons on there last week for $250 and they didn't hold anything. Money went in my account in 2 days.
