Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over LAFC in their Club World Cup opener! Blues defender Levi Colwill shared his thoughts post-match:
On the Win
Colwill: "The most important thing was to win, and we did that. We judged the moments well when to attack and control possession. It wasn’t the perfect performance, but in cup competitions, getting the win is all that matters. We’ll face different teams—it’ll be a huge challenge, but we’ll enjoy it and learn. The tournament has started, and our focus is now on the next game."
On the Clean Sheet
Colwill: "Clean sheets are everything for defenders. We know our attackers are exceptional—they’ll always score. So for us at the back, keeping a clean sheet is how we win games. Sure, the opponents had chances today, but hopefully next time we can minimize those opportunities even more."
On New Signings
Colwill: "They’re top teammates with great personalities—that’s what matters most. Everyone, including the fans, will see how brilliant they are. They’ve come here for a reason: to help the team."
