A Contradiction By A Driving Course Instructor Which Is A State Trooper

A while back I received a speeding ticket, so chose to take the driving course to keep the points off of my license.

The driving instructor for the class was a long time state trooper.

Somehow a question came up about speed limit signs and when you should start slowing down.

The instructor says "As soon as you approach & see the speed limit on a different sign, you should start slowing down. If you are coming into a town or slower zone, and can see 1/8 of a mile ahead down the road, for example, that's when begin slowing down."

So......He says that as soon as you can see a speed limit sign above that you should start slowing down.

If that's the case, then wouldn't that be the same case if you are going through a slower zone and you can see the speed limit sign above in which the speed is increased...............:think2:hno:

Why should it be that way?

There may be parallels in the situations as you pointed out, but that is not the point.

The point is they don't generally hand out tickets for slow driving, only speeding and dangerous driving.

The speed limit on the sign itself is a good indicator of what is a safe speed, besides being the law.

For instance, suppose the sharp turn in the road has a sign posted at 15, but a driver goes into the curve at 60 and rolls the car over. The driver is to blame and not the sign.

It is called "Speed Limit" not "Speed Suggestion." Unless your car can violate the laws of physics (which is not one of the laws you can get a ticket for) and go from 45mph to 35mph instantaniously, you must start slowing down before you reach the sign

They adjust the SPEEDS according to fatalities, so if your mad that they lowerd the speed in a area, its because many people died in that zone,,

I was on I-10 driving too phx, going through new mexico, and they had separated by 50-100 feet signs that went, 70-65-60-55-45,,

lol

now this is all within 500 feet and remember were on I-10 so Im doing 70 and I let off the accelerator, and a MUTHRFKNG PIG was hidden behind the 45 sign, and gave me aticket for doing 60?? lol
