not sure how many times I have said this... and Enfuego I respect you a lot...if you're capping your plays based on what % of bets have been placed on whatever team, you're pretty much in the wrong field.... I have never understood this...

Why do you say this? Line movement is a tremendous tool. Not the only tool of course.

I've always said the true tool we need is the amount of money on each side. Not the % of bets but the true money that comes in. You could have 80% of bets on Oregon at 1M. You could also have 20% on OSU at 10M. I would love to be on OSU in this instance.

BTW Red Eye, the MGM took in two bets recently. One for 50K on Oregon and one for 50K on OSU.

Currently, there have been 3 times more bets on the Ducks than the Buckeyes at the MGM. Slightly more money on Oregon.

Some Urban Meyer notables: --34-9 against the spread w/ more than a week to prepare --8-2 ATS in bowls. --15-8 straight-up as an underdog

What I'm understanding Enfuego is that you would rather side with the team that has the most money bet on them? In other words, against the books. Money is the only thing that matters, not bets placed on either team.

line movement is fine if you're shopping for a better # of course...But to say, I think a so and so team is the play because a certain % of bets are on one team is another.... useless info as far as I'm concerned......At the moment I have Ohio St +7... to me that was good value... some of the value is gone at 6.....for me I could care less If I'm the only one on a particular side.... Now if that line comes down to 4 or so I easily could go the other way...and I could care less how the line got to 4...matter of fact I woudn't even want to know..

anything above 4 points is too many in this game IMO.. I will take +6 large and OSU ML for 1/4 the ATS wager

There's absolutely no way books release that information. The percentage on each side perhaps but never the money on each side. Obviously money is moving the line down however.

As for what it means or its value. It means something. Not everything but it can be useful

According to Peter Childs of Sportsbook.ag, many football bettors are skipping the points and going right to Ohio State’s moneyline, grabbing the Buckeyes as big as +190 to win outright inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas Monday.

That game has seen tons and tons of Ohio State moneyline action,” Childs tells Covers. “To the point that we’re at -200 on Oregon when they’re a 6.5-point favorite. Usually a 6.5-point favorite would be in the -250 range, but our liability on the moneyline as well as Ohio State’s future action has taken this moneyline down to -200, giving only +170 on Ohio State. But our customers are even taking that number.”

-Of course 80% of the bets are not on Oregon. Awful post.

If I said the sky was blue, you'd disagree with me. We just don't get along with each other at all. Please, for the sake of other posters, just don't engage with me any longer. It's totally counterproductive.

You tell me it's an awful post yet provide no evidence at all to support your position. At least provide something to prove my post is inaccurate.

I've tried for years to find out how to get information on the money not the % but nobody will give that out.
