I think a cruise ship would be OK, they are like aircraft carriers ( in size)....something small like a 40' boat,....I'd rather be in port.

actually at sea, I think they don't take a huge hit, but I'm not a semen.

Normally they dont notice anything as the height of the tsunami is tiny when its moving across open sea....its when the wave approaches shallow waters that its height amplifies

Chile is not Haiti.
It is a developed nation with much better building codes.
8.8 is one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded.
What is remarkable is not the destruction that it caused but that so many structures did not collapse.
