Winning percentage needed to win 100 games in MLB if 162 games are played by the team.

very nice...the 'magic' mark, the 100 win season

.617 is the minimum required to reach that mark...currently no team is playing '617 ball'

MLB teams that win 100 game in a season.

Since 1969 (the year divisional play started) here are the teams who have played ".617 ball" or above in the American League....surprisingly there are not as many teams who've won 100 games in a season as one would think...the Red Sox have not done this since divisional play started nearly 40 years ago.

100 win seasons are more difficult than most would think.

Baltimore 6 times
New York 6 times
Oakland 4 times
Kansas City 1 time
Detroit 1 time
Cleveland 1 time
Seattle 1 time

CWS have come close twice, with 99 win seasons.

so there have been a total of 42 times that a team has won 100 games since 1969. Not so rare

I am surprised the Red Sox haven't won 100...I was a little surprised the 1969 Mets won 100 games too, although I did know that...the way the media treated this team, you would think they won 81 games squeaked into the playoffs and then won the WS.

That Mets team was very medicore on paper, but they did win 100 games somehow.

163 is an astonishing career stat. (not so subtle hint)

half the MLB teams have not won 100 games though...Tampa Bay will never win 81 games, let alone dream about winning 100 games...

I should have taken your money on that .400 avg bet....that won't happen again either.

last time Boston did win 100 was 1946...this very well could be the year, I have them winning 98 games right now...they still play the D-Rays a lot though.

I think .400 happens in our lifetime. No pitchers juicing and better health and nutrition
