One of the few SB's that i damn near thought about passing on. Took Pitt for the logical reasons. But only for a half unit. In all likelyhood they shoulda covered.

Oh well. Didn't mean much to lose a measly $50 bucks. Was a great game all the way around.

Some Mod move this to the NCAAFB fourm.

NCAA?

I couldn't disagree with Punter more. If this is where we hang out and interact with our political forum frat, we should be allowed to talk some sports and gambling and anything else we choose to speak about here, so long as we keep it substantially about politics.

You are half way to a 12 pack.

Let me know when you catch up! :103631605 :missingte

Green Bay Packers: Still Undisputed All Time NFL Champions

<script type="text/javascript"> AC.PL.bylineInvert = false; Event.observe(window, 'load', function(e){ Event.observe('byline', 'mouseover', AC.hoverByline); Event.observe('byline_bt', 'mouseover', AC.hoverByline); Event.observe('byline_container', 'mouseout', AC.hoverByline); }); </script>

12 Titles, Including 3 Super Bowls

Only catching up is for you to do, 3 now and 3 more you can say your even...that is unless the Steelers win a few more by then that is. Last time i looked it was Superbowls we counted. Also, beating 32 teams in a playoff with a salary cap is much much tougher to do then winning a league full of white boys who took second jobs to stay afloat who competed against 8 other teams.

Ayuh...Packer fan crowing about all his champeen-ships has about as much mustard these days as NotreDame fan bragging about his bowl game wins

It's hard to argue with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the greatest franchise ever, but I'll call them the greatest in the Super Bowl era.
The greatest franchise has to be the Green Bay Packers.

<iframe src="http://www.cbssports.com/video/player/embed/countdown/uc2b3mdszyuqvbLIv6tWAvH_8GKRMwge/354/270/false/true/000000" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" width="354" frameborder="0" height="270"></iframe>Why? Scoreboard.
The Packers have 12 championships, including three Super Bowl victories. The Steelers have six Super Bowl titles. That's impressive, but not as impressive as what the Packers accomplished.
Green Bay won titles in the 1920s, the 1930s, the 1940s, the 1960s and 1996.
 That's really impressive.
The Steelers didn't win their first title until a Super Bowl in 1974. They went 25 years, from 1947 to 1972, without making the playoffs. They were losers for years.
But the Steelers are definitely the best franchise since the AFL-NFL merger. With six Super Bowl titles, including Sunday's 27-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, they now have more Lombardi Trophies than any other franchise.
During the 1970s, they were a dynasty.
Winning two Super Bowls in the past four years in a system with free agency and the salary cap might be just as impressive.
 The Steelers get it.
They know drafting is the way to success. That's how you sustain good football teams that will compete for titles.
Green Bay is the best franchise ever.
But it's hard to argue with the Steelers as the best of the modern era.

Good point. The Packers might have the most longevity but the problem is we are in the superbowl era now, so IMO anything outside of that means nothing. With the merger came all the infusion of new teams, new money and new popularity. For the Steelers to represent their conference in 7 of those 43 games says it all.

Right on...Actually, since the leagues merged, GB has only won one SBowl.

The best overall franchises since the leagues merged are clearly Pittsburgh, Dallas, SanFrancisco and Oakland with several others vying for second tier - NYG and New England in past 20 years and Washington during the 1970-80s and Denver. Hell, since the merger Packers likely not even in top 20 franchises for overall success.

Uhm no...you have your history wrong.

The Packers played in and won the first two SuperBowls after the merger.

As any serious NFL buff knows of course.

Winning 3 and being in 4 is right up there in the modern era. :103631605
