I obviously can't dispute the account of HarryCaray's recent experience, but here's my recent experience with 5D. Until April 2016 they were always very prompt and reliable in sending payouts by check, and I typically received the checks within 72 hours as you reported even more recently.
However, that changed beginning with a check request made in early April. The check that would normally have arrived in 3 days, but didn't arrive until 11 days after the payout request was approved. It may or may not be noteworthy that the check was drawn on a different xxxxxxx bank than any of the previous checks I had received in 2015 and 2016. The account was owned by a xxxxxx xxxxx xxxx that claims that it is exempt from any outside regulation within its territory, where it also has a number of its own . I wondered xxxxxxx xxxx ether the change in banks was another red flag, but the check cleared and obviously that's what matters.
The next time I contacted them about getting a payout, they started pushing me to use a different payout method whereby they somehow transfer the funds to xxxx xxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx. The disclose up front that some banks won't allow these payments, but my bank was not on the list. I decided to try it because they were representing that it would be faster than getting a check. To make a long story short, they blew past the time frame they originally represented and then told me the time required had doubled to ten business days. The ten business days passed with no payment. When I contacted them they acknowledged that there was a delay but that I should receive the payment the next business day, which also passed with no payment. It has now been 17 days (including since the request was initially approved and still no payment. When I last contacted them they said the xxxxx xxxxx payout was still in process, but the alternatives they offered were to accept a payout by bitcoin, a payout by moneygram (which I understand would actually involve several visits to a moneygram outlet because of limits applicable to that form of payout) and restoring the funds to my account to play. I thought it was very interesting that they didn't offer the alternative of sending another check. They followed up with another email later in the day stating that they had now "completed" the transfer and that the funds would be "received" in my xxxxx xxxxx account within another 3-5 business days. (Their use of the terms "processed," "completed," "deposited" and "received" has been confusing and inconsistent throughout the rocess of trying to get the xxxx xxx payment.) The 3-5 day clock is still ticking so I remain, perhaps foolishly, hopeful that it will finally arrive and that I'll be able to withdraw it through xx xxxx xxx, as that's the way they represented this method would work.
I'll come back with an update as to whether I receive the payment, but notwithstanding HarryCaray's experience I don't think there's any question that there are reasons to be concerned about 5D's ability to make timely payments, and perhaps ultimately to make payments at all.
Of course, in the meantime they're still eagerly soliciting deposits and taking wagers.
