royalfan...thanks for bringing levelheadedness to this thread. While reading it, I was going to post the same thing.


Everything would not have happened the same if they went back to correct the clock. Hasn't anyone ever seen the "Back to the Future" movies? The space-time continuum would have been altered.

But even if we assume for a minute that the rest of the game would have been the same, to say that time would have run out of them is ridiculous. Besides, the Steelers scored with 1:21 left...if we're to believe they would have put together the same drive in the same amount of time (which, again, is ridiculous), the Pats would have had more than 2 minutes left for the final drive instead of 1:21. As it was, the Pats got the ball down in field goal range anyway with 57 seconds remaining, making the extra 52 second even more irrelevant. No one seems to be mentioning that on any TV or radio shows I've heard.

The game still comes down to execution and the teams performing in the "reality" of the moment.
