[h=2]While moviegoers are often touched by the messages portrayed on film, one woman in western Mexico was arrested for touching HERSELF during a screening of Fifty Shades of Grey.[/h] According to La Verdad, one sexually aroused patron in Sinaloa was enjoying the raunchy sadomasochistic flick when she allegedly decided to engage in a little debauchery of her own. The only problem? She happened to be in a crowded theater.
The unnamed woman, reported to be 33, was caught masturbating in the 12[SUP]th[/SUP] row of the cinema after other moviegoers became suspicious of her behavior.
Seeing as the film’s subject matter instigated the “crime of passion,” it is rather ironic that this chapter of the woman’s story also ended with a set handcuffs.
She was promptly arrested and confined to a jail cell.
This is not the first case of reported misbehavior regarding screenings of Fifty Shades. Two gangs of women physically fought it out after an argument during a showing of the film at venue in the U.K. on Valentine’s Day, according to the Daily Mail.
“Someone asked them to be quiet but things turned nasty and they just got louder,” said a witness. “I couldn’t hear any of the dialogue. I had been looking forward to seeing the film for weeks and then I completely missed the end because of those stupid idiots.”
Three women were also jailed in Glasgow during a separate showing of the film on the same night, reports the Mail, after they allegedly stabbed a man with broken glass.
Witnesses of that incident told authorities the ladies were vomiting in the aisles of the alcohol-friendly theater before the attack. After they got loud, a man had reportedly asked the group to keep quiet when he was attacked.
The film adaptation of E.L. James’ bestselling book has currently earned more than $300 million internationally.
