5 dimes teasers - WTF!!

5 Dimes advertises good teaser rates: 6 pt 2 teamer +100.

But, when you try to take advantage of this, they try to screw you.

example: I want to tease say Atlanta, with say Philly.

the straight lines for these teams are: Atlanta -7.5, Philly -9

so a 6 pt Teaser should be Atlanta -1.5, Philly -3
And a 6.5 pt teaser should be Atlanta -1, Phlly -2.5

But, our friends at 5 dimes decide to screw you instead:

Their 6 pt Teaser: Atlanta -3, Philly -4.5
Their 6.5 pt Teaser: Atlanta -2.5, Philly -4.

clearly, they dont want to let you capture the 3, as this is in the players favor! If you want to tease and not capture the 3, they have no problem with this. Sorry, but this is just plain cheating the player, and false advertising.

Perhaps its just me that they do this to. And, yes, I will not play here anymore

Sorry, I did not see your earilier posting.

In my opinion, this is CHEATING the player and people should be aware of this practice. Offering and advertising EV teasers, but on inflated lines is misleading at best.

i like to add the points to my teasers so i dont mind them shading the favs.

seat + 20.5

I wouldn't call it cheating. I posted this early in the season so that players can use the numbers to their advantage. There is great value in the dogs that are shaded. Occasionally they will shade the dog so the value will be in the favorite. If you play a lot of teasers you need a 5dimes account but you also need to have other outs so that you can shop the best line. I wouldn't do the favorites that are shaded in 5dimes because it will cost you more vig or you will have to lay the additional points.

Are you talking about Football (6/6.5/7) or basketball (4/4.5/5) Teasers??

I am talking about football teasers. In my opinion it is unfair for the "value" player. Why else would the book do it?

It like having a 10% off sale, but only after marking the item up 20%

5dimes teasers are tricky.You have to be careful when making them with the way they list them........Look below.......Notice starting with 5.5 point teasers in football, you get 4.5 in basketball. But then look at 6 point teasers in football, you still only get the 4.5 for basketball, but at a heftier price if I recall and they haven't changed it. It goes down the teaser odd list the same exact way. I suggest anyone playing lots of teasers play them at TCBets, they have probably the best complete package of teasers at this time.They also have 4 point Pleasers,which works great with NBA totals if you are pretty good with them. Also, If you play NBA teasers, Pinnacle NBA teasers are solid as well, where you get many more points on the totals than all other books.

I play at Pinny, but I still like the 5dimes teasers much better because they let you mix sports & halves-- and add subtract as many teams / points as one wants....

"shit" book IMO. THIS IS THE REASON YOU PLAY 6 PT TEASERS!!! And why books are afraid of them so you can cross the"magic" #`s, taking 1.5-2.5 up to 7.5 & up, passing 3,4,6,&7. Or reverse it w/the chalk 7.5 to 1.5 missing all the same #`s. They hate this option for this reason. That`s why most are O.K w/NCAA @ even $, but the NFL is a different situation, been making money @ this for yrs. And I`ll tell you there are a lot fewer books w/this option than there was 10 yrs ago.

I was just about to set up a 5 dimes account for teasers on football. But after reading this post are they only beneficial if you are playing the dogs? Do they give you a chance to cancel your wager once you see the numbers they are giving you?
