Probably 90% chance this is a bomb. This is the same team that thought it was a fantastic idea to kick out Harbaugh.

Harbaugh took a trash team to the Super Bowl. And he did so with a mentally unstable Chinese Taliban at quarterback, Mr. Hindu Lives Matter himself. I don't think even BelliCHECK could take that freak to the Superbowl.

All indicators point to this being a terrible decision by terrible management. Are we to next praise the Browns' for spending 500 million on a quarterback who only has one leg and one eye?

I'm sensing bomb here... BIG-TIME!!!

Terrible this will set the 49ers back 7 years

We all know Chop's history of identifying QB talent. "Drafting Carson Wentz will set your franchise back 7 years".

If you haven't had a good QB since Steve Young, most teams would jump the gun to pay a QB with any signs of high quality at the position.

I keep forgetting this kid is better than Brady, Montana, Manning, Elway, Marino...........

Pats, I remember the last "great" QB who signed a 4-year $72 million contract with Houston with $37 million guaranteed.

Yeah, Brock Osweiler lasted one year (2016) with the Oilers and was sent packing to Cleveland. No matter, he's set for
life and Houston is still looking for a quarterback.

Now, San Francisco gives a QB who has started a total of 7 NFL games (2250 yds, 12 tds, 5 ints) an unbelievable contract
with $90 million guaranteed. Ridiculous!!

So SF makes Jimmy G the highest paid QB, and in Chop's world that proves SF is going to start a dynasty

Yeah, the logic here is pretty damn funny.

I guess when the Lions made Matt Stafford the highest paid QB they won a bunch of Super Bowls in a row.

I don't think he will be a bust, but that Money is Ridiculous.

This contract is a overreaction for the lack of talent out there. Unless you want to draft a QB and wait to see if you can develop some kid.
Which could set you back a couple of years.

I still believe that the Pats fuked up on letting him go and don't believe the first reports that they were doing him a favor by trading him.
more like the later reports that Brady told Kraft that he doesn't plan on going anywhere and you need to trade JimmyG because belichick had plans on using him more.

What's even Worst is that kirk cousins will now want a Bigger contract than this. So let the Show begin !

People do the exact same thing in the business world. Pay a guy a big salary and expect his production to match his pay.

Doesn't work like that. In fact it's the opposite. Make a guy show you what he can do then pay him what he's worth.

These days this is just what you have to do.

A legit franchise qb with nothing around him can take a team to 10-6. And the only way you can consistantly win. You cant keep a great defense together for a decade.

Ive said it before. Some of these teams that consistantly pick in the top 5 Might as well just take 1 every year. After 16 games, you pretty much know what you have.

I like the move,

Not a coincidence that they were like 1-9- without him and 6-0 with him or whatever it was. Same players, same coach.

The money is all relative to this crap. Next year or maybe this year with Cousins, someone else will break the bank. I hope in my lifetime I see this bubble burst though. Where these salaries dont go up 15% every year. I hope its like the housing collapse.

If I owned a team, I would low ball the hell out of these guys. A 2nd round draft pick who is 21? No college degree and stupid? Why do I need to pay him millions? Is he going to get another job making 70K a year? I own his draft rights. No other league to go to. Cant go back and play college? Sit out a year? Thats a risk for him. He was already a 2nd round pick.

I think Jimmy G is very fortunate he was drafted by the Patriots in the 2nd round. He's now getting an off the wall mega deal based on "potential". No rookie gets that type of money, and if he played on a regular basis since he was drafted it's unlikely he gets that type of money.

Most guys have to prove themselves before they get 90 million guaranteed

And the Patriots were not going to pay him that type of money, never ever, just not happening

Maybe they saw the writing on the wall

Sometimes I think Robert kraft could
play qb for the patriots and be successful.

i can’t wait until this madness is over. Brady and bellichick gone and Andrew luck healthy. They can be the
Nail and we can be the hammer.

colts gm “ the rivalry is back on” oh boy. Yeah like the road runner and the coyote ? Haha
