Guys are 'forced out' because they can't perform... period. If they can do the job they are allowed to compete. The NFL is a young man's game with the exception of some genetic freaks like Darryl Green and Jerry Rice. Hard work will slow the aging process down but it won't stop it.

41 yrs is not too old either, Doug will still run a 4.53 40 when he is 47, he plays lacrosse at UCSD and basketball with Coach Fishers team, also plays in a mens soccer leauge and is working on his swimming so he can be good in a triatholon.

40 is not that old. I don't think bonds is even near 40, but look at karl Malone, etc. etc. You can be quite productive at 40.

Damn, you mean he's going drop .2 second off his 40 in the next 6 years. I guess old age doesn't affect midgets as much.
