Bill Munson was a taxicab driver and owner of Munson's Cab Company, a friend of Archie who appears sporadically during the first five seasons of All In The Family, first appearing in the Season one episode titled "Judging Books By Covers", which also featured veteran actor Phillip Carey, of One Life To Live soap opera fame. Played by former teen actor Billy Halop of the Dead End Kids film series of the 1930's and early 1940's, Munson appears in a total of 10 episodes, the last being the episode titled "Archie's Weighty Problem" in Season five.
Munson also makes an appearance in the memorable episode titled Sammy's Visit in season 2; while driving part-time for Munson's Cab company, which he did before he opened Archie's Place in Season 6, Archie happens to run into entertainer Sammy Davis, Jr., who had left his briefcase in the cab Archie drove. Munson stops by the Bunker home in hopes to meet the celeb who drove in one of his taxis; he also winds up taking the photo of the memorable kiss on the cheek Sammy lays on the bigoted tendencied Archie sarcastically!
