why MEM? im against you on all of these, ha.
MEM is giving up way to many pts lately and SA still has great D.
MIA still has to prove they are back, too me at least. HOU can beat them.
CHAR line looks like a trap, but im not biting

I kinda like the TMAC over...and over in SAC...the last two look good though...I'll be right back with a memphis write up because it looks like thats what everyone is wondering...its my biggest play of the year so far but by no means " A play of the Year" selection...its just the first 4 unit play I have had...I think I may have had one more four unit play which won

Just a few things on this memphis game. I don't look at a lot of the things normal cappers look at. A lot of people see a hot SA team laying only 3 to a Memphis team who has been in a rut lately and say free money. Im taking SA. I am more of a situational bettor and I just see this as a nice situation and spot for Memphis. Both teams had the dreaded Sunday off and are fairly rested. Memphis is just a team that shoots much better (by the end of season) at home and for a team that shoots so many 3 pointers, playing at home is a big deal. They are used to their own rims and the feel for them and if you watch Memphis play they are one of a few teams in the NBA that are night and day home and on the road. As I was saying before I'm more of a situational guy and heres tonights situation. A home team that rebounds better than their opponent , shoot better from the free throw line, scores more points a game and is almost Identical in team FG%. I mean whats not to like? Gasol is coming into his own and will keep Duncan from going off. Rudy gay is on the brink of becoming an all-star in the NBA. Connely is a legitimate PG that can keep the flow of the game at his pace. Mayo IMO is the rookie of the year and is only going to get better. And Arthur is playing great as well having I believe 16 and 10 in his last outing. There is not one weak spot in their lineup and as soon as they learn to play better help defense they are going to be a dangerous team. As for the spurs I am still not sold on them even with Ginobli and Parker. They are just getting older and they are relying 100% on defense which has been working so far, but as the season goes on these guys will get tired and older and guess what suffers when that happens??? The defense!! I lined this game at a pick and was happily surprised to see Memphis catching points at home. They are younger, quicker, healthier and rebound the ball better than San Antonio. They are also very very healthy. Something not many NBA teams can brag about..San Antonio being one of them

they dont rebound better, they get more rebounds b/c of more shots. both SA and MEM have negative reb differentials so i wouldnt say either rebound better than the other.

Im well aware of that...Memphis differential is only about 1.5 though and SA is close to 4...not to mention San Antonio has been outrebounded in their last 5 games...Memphis has won the rebound statistic in 6 of their last 7. If you watch both teams play as much as I do you can just watch and see who the better rebounding team is. Ginobli did his share of rebounding and Parker is a good rebounding gaurd and they miss that part of their game big TIME

Manu is also expected back tonight as well. San Antonio has been able to dictate pace is their last few games on the road, they have been playing shut down defense. Memphis must D up or they won't have a chance. Look for a low scoring game between the two.

Manu says hes ready...Spurs from what I am reading are telling him they want him 100% (not 90%) before his return and they have a targeted return for Wednesday...we will see

covers, espn, cbs and local papers have Manu not playing tonight...I would like to see where you are getting this info lovethenba as it would put a minor sway on my play...I still like Memphis but if Manu is 100% (which Im pretty sure he isnt) then I might downgrade the play a little bit...everything I read though says Wednesday at the absolute earliest and next week being more likely

i do like memphis to win but i doubt that should be that big..

Spurs G Manu Ginobili (ankle) is expected to return tonight against the Grizzlies and play for the first time this season.

Manu Ginobili will play for the Spurs on Monday after missing the first 12 games of the season after ankle surgery.
And yes, even coach Gregg Popovich has agreed to this plan. "It's great to hear," Ginobili said. "It's been enough time." It may take him a couple games to get up to speed, but with the Spurs going four times this week, Manu is definitely a solid fantasy candidate depending on your options.

Memphis is just a team that shoots much better (by the end of season) at home

Pretty irrelevant considering they've played 13 games only. And how can you logically conclude this, they are a young team with half the team gone from last year. There are no viable stats that can back this statement.

Gasol is coming into his own and will keep Duncan from going off.

Come on are you serious. Out of all the teams SA has played and will play, you actually think its worth mentioning MARC GASOL? Did you bet against SA when Duncan went up against, Kaman, Nene, Yao, Jefferson, Shaq, etc, etc???

Connely is a legitimate PG that can keep the flow of the game at his pace.

Tottaly disagree, and if youre a fantasy player who owns connely, you will know exactly what i mean. He is averaging 7 points and 4 assists for a 2nd year PG who was drafted 4th overall... You would think his averages would go up this season after getting Mayo and building more chemistry with Gay, but this is not the case. Conley had 0 assists against the Mavs. The MAVS! a team not known for their defence. That is just unacceptable.

There is not one weak spot in their lineup

Ok... im done critiquing.

Dont take this the wrong way. Im not bashing you but its hard for me to fathom why you would pick the grizzlies as your "pick of the year" with odds of 2.30!!!!! I mean if it were like 6 or 7 then this would be a nice pick. But even if Memphis does pull it off tonight, which they definately could, I just dont think its worth the risk.

Either way good luck on your bets.

i think this makes the play on memphis even stronger.......trsut me ....if u guys see the news, so do the oddsmakers, and theya rent over reacting to it, or changing the line...for good reason....San antonio backers think they r getting a great deal with SA so cheap......i dont love memphis in this game....but i love them even more now that its become clear ginobli is back...i fade returns off DL in baseball all the time, and this would seem like great spot tof ade ginoblis return

If i had a ankle or foot injury and iwa s coming back for my first game, the last thing id want is to have to face a scrappy young team that liked to run up and down and hustle for boards......spurs prolly gonna do alot of standing around hopin ginobli can create something.....always some adjustment when a star returns

not my game of the year...ill have far more than 4 units on that ...its my biggest bet of the early year...were 15 games in per team...not a big deal...and someone has a beef with memphis im taking it...that or they are a huge SA homer...and if u read my parentheses ( ) I said by seasons end they will shoot much better on their home rims...most teams do. Connelly isnt playing in a fantasy league tonight...hes playing against a backup PG whom he will toy with. Ill take the criticisms though...thanks and BOL
