Good luck!

I already have some leans in both CFL and ARENA but I'll wait to see the ARENA lines and how the public reacts to those lines. CFL has been very tricky this season and I expect the entire season to be like that. The pre-season faves are not as good as percieved in the off-season and some supposedly bad teams stepped up early on. I feel very fortunate to be hitting such a high winning percentage so far in the CFL given the circumstances. My friends and collegues everywhere keep telling me how they are losing their asses in the CFL after only two weeks. Actually the same can be seen on posting forums all over the net.

Yeah, talking about the CFL. The Als were supposed to be the dorrmats of the East but low and behold they jump out of the gates early, going 2-0. Both BC and one of last year's Grey Cup represetatives, Winnipeg, are both 0-2 and play each other the week, so one of those two so-called 'heavy boys' will begin the season at 0-3. The Argos knock off the Bombers in Winnipeg in week one and then come home and get throttled by a team, Hamilton, who were coming off a home throttling themselves in week one by visiting Montreal. Actually the phrase 'tough to figure out the first two weeks' is actually a kind and polite phrase, if you will, for some bettors of the CFL I'm quite certain.

Cleveland number is going down. Olympic has it at 7, some other books at 6.5 now.

Cleveland & Over

The reason why this total is not higher, is that two-games Philly series vs New York in which only 89 and 97 pts were scored. I will not let these two games fool me. The New York Dragons knew last week that they had no chance against the Soul in a shootout, so they took care of the clock with long drives to prevent an offensive outburst by Soul. It worked pretty well for them until the last seconds of the game. They had over 34 minutes of ball possession and Philly actually scored a lot of points for a team that had the ball under 26 minutes and managed to turn it over 3 times in that short period of time. New York is one of the 5 slowest teams this season, but also the top defensive team and one of the worst offensive teams in this league. So, it was no surprise to see two low scoring games vs Philladelphia. The Soul is 5-1-1 to the UNDER against the slowest 5 teams in the league and 5-3-2 to the OVER against everyone else. Philladelphia and Cleveland are among the fastest teams in this league, who can score in a hurry with their solid offenses. Both are also very bad defensively and I expect them to combine for at least 122/123 pts (their combined totals in first two meetings this season). Philly has won 5 in a row going into this game but they have been far from impressive since their loss to Cleveland on May 2nd. They covered only 2 of 8 games since then, and they were actually luck to win last week. As for Cleveland, they are fearless right now. 7-3 in last 10 games, 7-4 ATS in last 11, with straight up dog wins @Georgia, vs Chicago, @Orlando and vs Philly. They were 10 pts dogs twice vs Soul this season, and they won one game by 12 and lost another one by 1, and they are stil getting no respect. They are simply the better of two teams right now.

Upgrading the SSK/HAM total to a GOY (1st one in the CFL)

These two teams are the slowest two teams in the league after two weeks of action, in terms of seconds per offensive play, which is not a surprise for two teams that like to run a lot. And since the run has been working well for them, I expect both teams to keep on running. Sask. scored 34 against the awfull Eskimos defense but struggled until the fourth quarter. Then they scored 26 against BC, and once again scoring half of their points in the fourth quarter. Well now they are playing their second consecutive road game and I wonder how much left they have in their tank offensively. They have been a pleasant surprise as a team in first two weeks, but let's not forget that they are missing a lot from their championship team from last year. I expect them to keep focusing on defense and to run the ball a lot on offense. As for Hamilton, I don't know what to expect. A team that lost big against Montreal and then won big against Toronto clearly has two faces. And since they are (by far) the least experienced team in this league, they will have some ups and downs and this game is perfectly suited for a letdown. Their offense can not be trusted yet, especially since we haven't seen a whole lot from Printers so far. They do have the best runner in the league but after running for 189 yards against Toronto, he too is due for a letdown. The Saturday weather could be un-friendly as they expect a very humid day with showers and rather strong winds, but this is Canada and the weather can change a lot in the next 3-4 days. However, I encourage you to check your weather forecast for this game on Saturday.
