Spare me the overdramatic about raping the dreams of kids who idolized him.
Altice, you're not an innocent kid or an innocent 19 yeal-old girl with dreams, so while you may want to be spared from the "over-dramatic" they will continued to be crushed.
Kobe hasn't been convicted yet. Are athletes guilty until proven innocent?
On the contrary, money buys freedom - we all know this. You need to look no further than OJ or Mark Chumura to realize that it's "ok" to rape and murder as long as your rich & famous. Save the sob story, this rapist will walk like the rest of your "poor" heroes.
Why are athletes role models?
Because children look up to them - they are an inspiration to the dreams of millions of kids. Like it or not - SOME responsibility comes with the inflated paycheck, drug addiction & thrist for hookers.
From Kirby Pucket to Warren Moon to Sammy Sosa to Kobe now to even the "spotless" Michael Jordan, athletes should never be role models. These are the same guys that the dumbass media tries to portray as great and magnaminous figures and as usual the media has no clue, but love to talk about the fall of an athlete that they built up in the first place. We don't really know these athletes at all other than Railshit of course. They probably listen to their agents so they can make good money in endorsements. We think we know these athletes by watching the games, but we have no clue. It is parent's fault for allowing athletes to be role models. They are entertainers who are good at what they do, but should never be thought of as role models or be idolized
Probably, but you take a walk along the bleacher seats in Yankee staduim someday - and you tell me that these althetes are flat out HEROES to the kids in the Bronx. You'd be a fool to say the media created this - it was a combination of love for sports & tradition.
Kobe failed his team, his wife, his resposibilities as an American Citizen & worse - he failed the entire youth of America.
