3 Walmart employees chased shoplifter who stole DVDs, now they’re facing manslaughter charges
[h=1]3 Walmart employees chased shoplifter who stole DVDs, now they’re facing manslaughter charges[/h]July 31, 2016| Tom Tillison

Three Walmart employees have been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of a shoplifter who stole $380 worth of DVDs.
Kenneth Wisham, 64, was confronted by employees at a Lakeland, Florida, Walmart and tried to get away by running, according to Fox 13 Tampa. The employees gave chase and detained Wisham after they claim he was about to fall to the ground.
While being held, Wishan stopped breathing. He was taken to a hospital, where he died and the Lakeland Police Department said the coroner ruled the death was from mechanical asphyxia and Wishan suffered 15 broken ribs.

According to a police affidavit, a witness said she saw one of the employees, Crucelis Nunez, a customer service manager, knock Wisham to the ground and then beat him with her fists, Fox News reported.

Nunez, 23, told the police she “nudged” Wisham as he was about to fall, though she said he later told them, “I can’t breathe.”
Walmart suspended Nunez, support manager Nathan Higgins, 35, and loss prevention employee Ruandall Tooko, 58.
The retail giant released a statement saying, “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by these events. The status of the associates involved continues to be reviewed. We’ll continue working with law enforcement officials, as we have from the beginning, while conducting our own review.”

64 years old can be fragile. I have seen harmless looking falls do extensive damage to people. Not saying they didn't rough him up, just saying it is completely possible for a senior to fall on their chest and shatter their rib cage.

15 broken ribs? how did that happen

they may just be complicit in manslaughter, if they beat a man who was lying on the ground because he stole $ 350 of merchandise

now, the guy was an asshole too, this is a tough one, but I think the three Walmart employees may have an issue

PS: I'm forming my opinion based on reading two paragraphs, I suspect there's more to follow

Older shoplifter guy died here in the Best Buy parking lot while being detained, but they didn't beat the shit out of him like this for sure sounds they did.

I concur, and I think forensics can tell the difference

we'll have to wait and see the evidence I suppose

Witnesses say they beat the shit out of him. Surely you're trolling?

considering the fact that EVERY WALMART has the highest tech security system 80 cameras in EVERY store,, We can safely say that there is a video of it from EVERY ANGLE..

Actually I am fine with it. I am so fucking tired of crime. The guy got what he deserved. As a society we tolerate too much crime and we make excuses for people that commit them. If he didn't steal anything he would still be alive.

You should die if you steal a pack of bubble gum? At the hands of three Walmart workers nonetheless?

I'm with you, KennyB.

The guy stole stuff then ran. The employees got him and at worst gave him a broken rib beating. BFD. For the first 200 years of this country, the employees would have been exonerated and honored as exemplary employees for putting themselves in harms way to prevent a crime and a criminal from escaping.

In 2016 they face manslaughter charges.

This world is upside down and f'd up.
