$2500.00 BET... Need input Cards better than Sox???

I have a bet with a buddy who is a huge fan of one of these teams. We have wagered on who is the overall better team in baseball. Sure White Sox have a better record to date, but here is the question... IN YOUR OPINION WHO IS THE BETTER TEAM??

We agreed that we would let the RX decide. The first 25 votes for either team wins.

So.... WHO IS BETTER. WHITE SOX or CARDINALS.

I'd say the Cards.

But why would you let the RX decide? Let it be decided on the field at the end of the season. Team with the better record or/ team that advances the most in the post season should be the winners.

Just my take, unless 2500.00 is nothing to you guys; I personally wouldn't want 25 people who could be anybody from a 11year old Cards fan in St Louis to a 50year old Whitesox fanatic decide where my money goes.

I'm with 2Plays. Make it a futures deal with advancement in playoffs the deciding factor. That way, you'll both be in total agony into October!

Cards are more likely to advance in the playoffs. Sox just don't hit the ball that well and depend on the HR to bail them out. Also, the Sox have built their record by beating up on their division. We will get a good idea of where they are at with Boston and the Yankees coming up.

Cards imo are better but injuries could play a part in the end. Next 3 weeks will determine if Sox are for real or not as they have not played Boston or New York and will be playing them 13 times. That would give a better read if they can advance to WS or not.

Squeeze, you're right! I hope it doesn't happen. But as Potter said, I would also be pulling for the Cards if those were my only 2 choices. I've always been a huge Big Mac fan and when he was a Cardinal, I softened on them a bit!

This has been an ongoing discussion with us for the last month. He said that the majority of baseball fans would agree that the Sox are a better squad. I told him he is crazy to think the way he does. He said let's put some cash on it and with both of us being RX fan's, we decided to let the posters decide.

BTW... We are partners in a bar..... We average close to $1600.00/mth in vending (Golden Tee, Pool Tables, etc) so the funds come from that. Just a fun little bet.

Cardinals, easily!! The White Sox are a very good team but come playoff time (if they get there) everything changes and any one of the other top teams in the AL such as Boston, Yankees, or Angels take them down. Cardinals, meanwhile, are clearly the best team in the NL and I really can't see anyone who is even a semi-serious threat to them getting to the World Series.
