Marilyn reveals a shocking revelation to Jack. AUDREY IS DEAD. Big shock right? Marilyn tells how she died in a car accident in China and Jack is shocked. He is furious and he fears that she was murdered by Chinese operatives as she attempted to find Jack. Jack goes looking for answers.

Chloe and the others are busy working on finding the drones. CTU knows they are going operational and they are running out of time. CTU initiates satellite coverage and Morris eventually realizes that one of the drones has taken off. The drone is fully armed with a nuke and it’s heading towards some city in the West.

Karen realizes she needs to align herself with Tom Lennox. The two agree that they dislike each other immensely but they both realize they need to work together for the good of the country.

Jack catches up with Buchannan and voices his opinion about Audrey’s death. Jack swears revenge on those responsible and it’s apparent this will be touched upon later in the season.

Milo is acting shady with Nadia.

The drones target is San Francisco. As they are tracking it, it suddenly vanishes. Nobody knows what has happened… has it crashed? Has it released the nuke? Where is it!!!??? CTU has been hacked and the hacker has made the drone vanish from CTU's systems. Jack must rush to find the hacker and somehow save shaky town from imminent doom

Jack is on his way to the rendezvous with Cheng but he is being tracked so Doyle is close behind. Jack stops under an electrical tower which interferes with the signal, removes the tracking device on the chip and heads off to meet Cheng. CTU manages to intercept a phone call between Jack and Cheng, and knows the drop will take place at an empty hotel. Jack arms the place with the C4 so Cheng won't leave with the chip.

Daniels and Tom come to an understanding. Meanwhile, Karen is forced to either fire Bill or have her take the blame for the past situation in Seattle where Fayed wasn't apprehended. She fires Bill from CTU! Bill can't believe this and walks out. Nadia is now in control of CTU.

Doyle approaches Jack's location and calls for back-up from CTU. Cheng arrives and Jack sees Audrey for the first time.

As agreed, Chengs lets Audrey go and she heads down the street. Jack gives Cheng the chip, but noooooooo................ Doyle ruins everything by ambushing the area! The body count climbs, but Cheng and some of his men manage to escape out the back into waiting Hummers. Jack is pissed! He shows Doyle how he was going to blow the place up. Dammit! Cheng has the chip and is off and running!

Jack has been taken into custody at Nadia's orders. He sees Audrey but she's completely out of it and doesn't even remember Jack. Jack is scared at what has happened to her

Reed Pollock, the guy that was arrested earlier in the season for helping with the attempt on Waynes life, is trying to get out of the death penalty. He confesses about Karen and Bill having Fayed in custody then releasing him in the past (what Lennox is blackmailing Karen for in episode 6). Karen is told that someone has to go down for it, someone away from the president. Either Karen or Bill. Karen is told she has to fire Bill to protect everyone else. So she calls Bill:

B: I'm not sure I know what you're saying.
K: You're going to have to step down, immediately.
B: Are you asking me to hand in a resignation?
K: No, Bill. It's an order. I have to fire you - it's the only way this can work.
B: Fire me?
K: Yes.
B: Do you not realize what this means? We're talking about the end of my career, Karen.
K: It might be worse than that.
B: Then, why are you doing this. I'm your husband, for chris'sake!
K: You don't think I've thought this through? That I don't know what it's going to mean for you...?
B: The public will make connections that don't exist. 15,000 Americans dead. Bill Buchanan had the man responsible and released him. I'll go to prison.
K: Not necessarily.
B: Oh, that's reassuring.
K: I took an oath, Bill. I have to protect the President. This is the only way this can play out - I have to put distance between you and me.
B: I can't believe I'm hearing this.
K: We'll get through this, please trust me. I love you. That's all that matters.
B: Apparently, not.
K: Bill...
B: I want to get off now.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>


Buchanan hangs up. STAY ON Karen who holds the phone in her hand... then, puts it down. Her patriotism may have just caused her marriage to fall apart. She starts to cry.

Back over at the White House. We've got Vice President Noah Daniels (who is now president) having a sexual relationship with Lisa, the presidents chief aide. Daniels wants to get it on with her all night after the crisis is over, so she says she needs to go home to 'get her belongings and will come back'. When she gets there, her real lover, Mark Bishop, is there. They talk about using Noah to do something for them. Lisa thinks its about money. But then Mark calls someone named "Nikolai, Russian Spy-Master" and tells him that all is going according to plan and that Lisa doesn't know what she is truly doing.

Meanwhile, Jack calls Cheng on a meeting spot, Jack tells Cheng to meet him at a deserted hotel. Jack heads over there and sets up the C4 in the rooms and stuff. Doyle, with the help of CTU, finds Jack. He hides nearby Jack's location.

Cheng arrives. Doyle is watching the situation. Jack says for the deal to go down, Audrey must leave down the road to a gas station and take a taxi which is waiting for her. Then Jack will hand over the chip. Audrey is walking there, Doyle makes a decision to stop Cheng before he gets the chip, so he shoots one of Chengs men, a firefight breaks out. Cheng says hand the chip over or one of his shooters will kill Audrey. Audrey becomes scared and runs back to Jack. Jack sees no alternative so he hands Cheng the chip. Cheng and his men drive off. Doyle says he has to arrest Jack.

Jack talks to Audrey, but shes being wierd, mumbling to herself and scratching her head. Jack looks at the back of her head and sees a spot full of scars. The scripts last line says "who watches as the brain-damaged Audrey is lead away by the CTU Men."

Episode #20

Doyle talks with Audrey and realizes she's damaged and he escorts her to CTU so she can be checked out. Jack is kept in CTU custody and he's also taken to CTU. CTU informs James Heller of his daughter's status.

Russian President Yuri Suvarov has somehow learned of the situation regarding the chip and he's beyond upset. He reveals that he knows the Chinese are in control of the chip and he threatens military action unless the chip is secured. Tom Lennox and Karen don't know how Suvarov knows all of this information but they come to the realization that there's a mole inside the White house or CTU.

Nadia is stressing and she's having difficulties with her duties as Director. She orders that Jack be locked down and Jack begs to speak with Audrey. Doyle thinks this will be good because Audrey may have some sort of knowledge regarding Cheng's location but Nadia puts her foot down and she won't allow Jack to get near Audrey. Nadia will do this her way.

A doctor begins to look at Audrey and CTU learns of the lengths the Chinese went through to brainwash Audrey.

Skip ahead....

Doyle tells Jack to attack him and make it look like Jack knocked him out. Jack does and he hurries to Audrey's location.

Morris breaks up with Chloe. She is devastated.

The mole is discovered and it's traced to the White house.

Cheng hits a snag and he's unable to access the chip's data. Cheng makes contact with a mystery man on the phone and they come to terms on how they both can help each other.

Jack rushes Audrey to an isolated area in CTU and he tries to get information from her. Audrey is beyond damaged but she manages to say a phrase to Jack that could be a promising lead, or it could be a message to Chinese intelligence agents.

How it ends...
Jack is taken back to holding and we see Heller arrive to take Audrey out of CTU. He asks to speak with Jack and Heller rips Jack for his failures and Jack is left there crushed.

episoide 21...

Remember when Cheng had some men getting ready to do some task in the few pages I had of episode 21? Well turns out, it was a plan to attack CTU and kidnap Josh.

I think at the end of episode 21, they will have breached CTU via sewer tunnels. The lead chinese guy, Zhou, will ask who is in charge. This is where Milo dies. I'm not sure exactly what happens, but it will be something to the extent of Milo standing up to the question, and Nadia hesitates/is scared. What I do know is that Nadia continues to blame herself for his death, so that leads me to believe that he died because she didn't say that she was in charge of CTU (remember, Bill leaves in episode 19).

Anyway, in episode 22, the gunmen gather up the CTU personal and take Josh. Marilyn is trying to get him back but Josh restrains her from getting in danger. Then zhou is about to hit Marilyn with his gun but Jack catches his arm and stops him.

I have 2 different versions of what happens here. In one version, Zhou is moving all the CTU people to a holding room while they leave. Jack walks slowly so he is in the back of the line. He whispers to Nadia a plan to stop them. After everyone in front of them enters the holding room, Jack and Nadia suprise attack the gunmen but Josh has already been taken away. The gunmen Nadia is attacking gets the best of her and is about to shoot her, but Doyle and his men arrive and shoot them down. The second version was the same except instead of Nadia, it was Morris.

So Josh is handed over to Cheng with some gettaway vehicles. Jack and Doyle are chasing after them through the tunnels and shoot the cars. A shootout occurs and Cheng gets out with Josh and runs on foot. Long story short, they get Josh back and Cheng gets away.
