I think most of us are always looking for a bust-out team who can help make some money once the season starts. One team that has caught my attention are the Temple Owls. This will be the third year for coach Matt Rhule and he will have 20 starters, plus the kicker and punter returning. During Rhule's first year (2-10), he had one of the youngest teams in the nation with only 7 seniors. Temple improved to (6-6) Rhule's second season setting up an opportunity for a big year during 2015.

Eight starters return on offense including third year QB starter P.J. Walker and the entire offensive line. On defense, all 11 starters from 2014 will be back plus the kicker and punter. The schedule sets up well for a veteran team.

Penn St.....@Cinn.....@Umass.....@Charlotte.....Tulane.....UCF.....@E. Car.....Notre Dame.....@SMU.....@S. Fla.....Memphis.....UConn

Getting Penn State and Notre Dame at home is a plus. Not saying the Owls will beat either but certainly should help trying to cover the spread.

Welcome your comments.......please add any team you think fits into this "bust-out" category.......................

Temple gets a lot of players back, but what good does that do if the players are not that good? Hosting both the Irish and Penn State will not help the line. Last season, Temple, coming off a 2-10 2013 went 6-6, but only 5-6 ATS last season. One would expect a better ATS performance than that considering they won 4 more games than the year before.

Guess my favor with Temple is from all the time I spend researching teams. I believe the Owls have a ton of potential to be a good ATS team this season. Matter of fact...they will give Penn State and Notre Dame all they can handle playing at home.

BD, you differ. I have no problem with that....I trust what this coach has done in two years and believe the improvement will continue.

Anyone who tells you they can predict ATS with teams is NUTTS! A wagering man better be always looking for an advantage. I love the Owls this year for that advantage.

By the way...last year was the first losing CFB season I've had in ten plus years.

Just trying to win a bigger battle during 2014...but proud of my nephew...the kid finally grew up learning this gaming battle.

Probably true hog11. Not sure Temple can beat either Penn State or Notre Dame, but give,em some points and makes for
some interesting games. At least to me.
