Funny how they leave Byalor and TCU out of the playoffs, but they have them in the top 4 of best odds to win a NC.

Can't believe Miss St is 75/1 & Ole Miss is 40/1.

About what I expected with Ohio State at 4-1.

Knew Bama would be in the mix...and they should be and will be.

Florida State at 30-1 is a little lite to me. Jimbo plugs in a QB and the Noles will surprise lots of folks.

Like TCU but not second at 8-1...lot's of issues on defense for Frogs that high.

On the west side Oregon seems to be the one standout team, however it's not that I have anything against a team with a 1st year starting QB... lord knows how that idea has been blown apart lately on many levels of the sport. It's that they were pretty deep across their roster at most positions and they still are, especially with new blood at WR. I personally don't give USC as high a position as they were given but 18-1 seems long enough odds to make sense. Oh yeah right, Sarkisian will have himself a breakout season... his first ever. Stanford remains a mystery to me. Maybe Shaw will find himself a quality QB. Defense might win you championships but not if you can't score points. I see one of the Zonas as a much more real threat if either can get into and win a CCG. Washington... eh? Their new HC might be a miracle man but then again he may not be. Methinks Cal will make some advances and so will the Buffs, but nothing more than modest gains and maybe one upset each. UCLA has the potential to win it all but you can say that about them every year - until saying it tires you out. OS and WSU should pray that they are not relegated to a roll of cellar landlord. Not sure that will work. I will be very interested to see what Gary Andersen (OS's new HC) has to say (most every week.) Also what's happening in the Palouse from Mike Leach from Pullman, WA on a weekly basis:

The "Palouse" - 100 miles from nowhere

It's hard for me to believe that Mike Leach got a square deal from the Texas Supreme Court regarding his dismissal from TT thanks to Craig James (ESPN) position as Adam (Lazy Boy) James' father who everyone knows was a slacker that felt entitled to more playing time for the Red Raiders than he earned. If you don't like it, just think of what Mike Leach had to live with.

Yeah i can't believe that either. What really blows my mind is that they have the other 6 west teams all ahead of Miss St. I think Miss St will be closer to the top than the bottom !?!? ....I've got some serious re-evaluating to do as i was projecting the bulldogs to win the west.

MsSt has to do with returning starters. They lose 3/4 of Dline, 1/2 LB, 3/4 DB's. On O, 3/5 of Oline, 2 Wr's and the TE. That's a lot for any team, then they have to play in the West.

Mississippi State returns just 9 starters. 5 on offense and 4 on defense.

Ole Miss returns 16 starters. 9 on offense and 7 on defense.

The edge goes to Ole Miss in numbers and especially because of better athletes.
The Rebs have recruited better talent than Bulldogs the past few years.

I like Ole Miss much more than MSU regardless of returning starters. In 2015 Freeze will be working off of that top 10 recruiting class from 2013. He should have a pretty salty team if things come together. Plus teams like that usually get pretty damned focus the next year after ending the season the way they did and then getting spanked in their bowl game..And hopefully for them they can stay healthier this time.
