NBA draft is by far the easiest to predict of all major sports...Everyone knows for the most part ( a couple surprises) who will be good. Everyone was high on Lillard last year and that is with him playing not real competition.

He's not even good just takes a lot of shots.

No different than Kemba Walker.

Dime a dozen.

Thats because 1 player is 20% of the starting lineup.
It takes 4.5 NFL players to equal 20%.

LOL that's a great point but I know that you know not what I meant.

Even if NFL matchups consisted of 5 on 5, and you have a Barry Sanders in the backfield, he's not going to make near the impact against the other team as a Lebron James, Michael Jordan, or Shaquille Oneal is...

Seth Greenberg made a good point today. He basically wondered why some of these guys that most likely will get drafted in the 2nd round are thinking. He said most of them may not make the team and if they don't then they'll go to the developmental league. His point was do you want to play in front of 500 people who don't give a shit in Grand Rapids or in front of 18K at Rupp Arena? He said if you stay in college, you are working with personal trainers and really good coaches against very good competition. Why would you want to go play in front of a bunch of people in Sioux Falls that don't even really care about how you play?

Because their stock will keep falling. Eventually, a lot of these guys get found out and the NBA realizes they can't play. Josh McRoberts is another example. He was the #1 player in nation his senior year of high school and would have been a lottery pick if he came out from hs. But he played at Duke for 2 years and it was discovered he is not that good.

Sometimes the 2nd round is the best they can be even though they were a 5 star recruit out of high school. Look at a 2014 mock draft, they are just all top recruits coming in but most do not know if they can play yet except for Wiggins. (supposedly)

Isn't McRoberts still in the league? That means he's still one of the 400 best basketball players in the world. He's carved out a nice little niche for himself.

Both valid points from opposing sides.

I cant say I blame anyone jumping into the draft at first chance, the money and opportunity is difficult to put off and delay... at the end of my life I would rather say "I should of stayed in college another year" vs getting hurt or never getting a shot in the NBA and say "I wish I would of just declared for the draft"

McRoberts is decent, probably better than most of these "top" recruits.

I don't blame players that declare for the NBA draft early if they are locks to be drafted in the 1st round since they will get a guaranteed 3 year contract. I don't understand why some players leave college early when everyone is telling them they might be a 2nd round pick or not even drafted.

every year people say the draft is weak and every year people come out of nowhere and turn into solid players.

If you are drafting a top-5 player, you are paying for more than solid. These teams need a draw also, and none of these have star power.
