Thought I would take a stab at guessing.

10. Penn St
9. Oklahoma
8. Oregon
7. Georgia
6. Ole Miss
5. Va Tech
4. USC
3. Alabama
2. Texas
1. Florida

This is off the top of my head, of course defections to the pros could affect things and probably leaving someone very deserving out.
Some teams that I believe will be considered; , Okl. St, Ohio St, Boise St. T Tech, G Tech, LSU

Thoughts?

i'm a little more bearish on alabama...they made an unbelieveable turnaround from last year and lose 3 starters on their o-line, which was a huge reason for their success and cody their DT along with a senior qb...i would have them closer to 10 than 1 and certainly behind Ole miss

VTech a little high imo, and Penn st, with qb, rb, and practically their whole defense back, probably 5 or 6 (i might be a little biased though)

oh yeah, USC ahead of Texas

I am a little less bullish on USC due to the fact that I think Taylor Mays is a goner, which leaves that defense with only one full time returning starter. I also think that losing both O and D coordinators may have a slightly negative effect.

I see your point on PSU I was thinking that the big 10 may not get so much respect after their conferences bowl performance...

USC up, Va Tech off, Oregon off (sorry UOwe), Ole Miss off, add Ohio State (recruiting always top notch), add LSU, add Okie State (just a stab in the dark)...something like this is my guess:

1. Florida (especially if Super Woman comes back)
2. USC
3. Texas
(I think these top three are pretty solid to be correct, with a possible Texas/USC switch if Colt is hyped during the summer as Tebow's competition for Heisman)

4. Bama
5. Oklahoma
6. Ohio State
7. Penn State
8. Georgia
9. LSU
10. Okie State

One thing I don't like about my version is the conferences - SEC (4), B12 (3), B10 (2), and Pac-10 (1). I imagine a Big East, ACC, MWC, or WAC might have someone in the mix. I just don't know who...

I do think OM may be a little high. I think they will be favored to win the SEC West next year, but lets see who they lose first. I think SoCal will reload, but can any team lose 11 D starters and be just fine? Im skepitcal. Bama I think has some issues, but I think McElroy will be a decent improvement over Wilson at QB. UGA has no business being in the top 10 with no Stafford/Moreno. I think Cox will guide them well, but they will not be THAT good I dont think. They have too many issues on defense.

1. Florida (Same Team)
2. Alabama (Same Defense, some rebuilding on offense)
3. Texas ( Colt, yes/no?)
4. Penn State ( I think they will be a contender)
5. Oklahoma (Could be Stoops last hurrah!)
6. LSU ( I think Les Miles is Handsome)
7. Ohio State (Pryor, Heisman?)
8. Va. Tech (Lots of returnees)
9. Good Ole Miss (Love this team, may be overhyped?)
10. USC ( May be young on defense, but....Pete Carroll)

Great idea for a thread, Bro. I may be out or element with this one however, it is off the top of my head.

I see one that should have put in teams to consider: TCU

Also I think Oklahoma is losing quite a bit. Perhaps big12 followers can comment.

USC will have a badass offense if they don't have too many guys take off for the pros. USC's defense should be weaker.

Not a bad guess, Ducks. I don't know that Georgia will be quite so high, as their already-underachieving team is getting hit hard by underclassmen leaving early. Oklahoma is almost certainly going to be in a rebuilding year if Bradford leaves, as is the rumor.

Texas Tech seems to be losing almost everything they have, with both Harrell and Crabtree gone, but Mike Leach just keeps finding guys to plug into that system. I doubt they'll get a high preseason ranking, but they'll win 7 or 8 games like usual.

Texas loses very little other than some strength on the defensive line -- McCoy is definitely coming back and Jordan Shipley has been granted a sixth year of eligibility -- and a year of experience should help shore up that weak, young secondary. Somewhere in the top 3 or 4 looks to be about right for them.

Ok state may be ranked higher than OU if Bradford and McCoy both leave. The Cowboys will be a veteran laden team next year with a more favorable schedule.

If Oklahoma State could find ANY defense they'd be a top 10 team. That offense is going to light up the scoreboard on everybody.

The bottom line for OU is they lose almost everybody on offense, and practically nobody on defense. If Bradford leaves it would be 8 longtime starters gone off the offense including the entire offensive line. Off the top of my head the defense just loses Nic Harris and Lendy Holmes. Possibly Demarcus Granger if he foregoes his senior season and goes pro. Which is possible since he would be considered a first rounder or early second. OSU will be a veteran team next year and probably should be rated ahead of OU. But the only problem they may have is breaking in some new coaches. Losing DC Beckman to Toledo was huge.

Well VT plays Bama first game of the year next season in atlanta. If the rest of the world agrees, this will be an early big game. GO Hokies!

1. Florida

Tebow will be back, along with the O-line, a bigger, stronger Rainey and Demps, plus other playmakers that have been laying low or redshirting. TE Aaron Hernandez returns, Deonte Thompson, Moody, Rainey Demp,s Tebow, etc.

Defense doesnt lose a soul but Spikes, but they also add tremendous depth on the D-line. 5* D-tackle redshirting Omar Hunter, plus Torrey Davis and possible John Brown will be a nasty DT rotation, a weakness on this years team. We saw how quickly the secondary improved from last year to this year, it will be scary good next year.

2. USC

Nasty all around, but their defense was very very good this year and they lose a lot of key pieces to that D.

3. Texas (If McCoy stays).

Toss up after this.

Ole Miss will not be the same team. They lose all of their strength which was their studs in the trenches. Same for Bama, plus they have to break in a new QB. LSU is on the rise again as they had their down year, broke in some new QBs and will now reload. Oklahoma has to break in a new QB most likely and Stoops cant win a big game anyway. Ohio State should be pretty good, but can we keep putting this team in the top 5?

The question to me is what kind of a program is WVU? Pat White and Slaton are gone. Will they regress or reload is the question. I think regress big time.

Virginia Tech may be a top 5 team with the new QB in their making plays. But he still has a lot of growing up to do.
