this is why they dont want a playoff format. towns lose out economically and players lose out on the bowl experience.

5Team,

Not sure if you have my digits, but I believe I have yours. I'll drop you an email in the next day or so. I am about 99% locked and loaded for the game. Hopefully, we can meet up and head in together (you, me, Hawkeye, and anyone else).

Looking forward to it.

What's the itinerary for the Motor City Bowl? :missingte

Cities are losing financially when the stadiums are 2/3rds full.

I'm there, looking forward to FISH on the grill cooking up some corn on the cob.

The parade is a nice family event for anyone in the TAMPA area as well.

I actually have an invite to the Outback Bowl President's Reception on 12/30. My wife's out of town, so I was considering asking this hottie from the neighborhood to go with me, but I may live to regret that.

Anyone have extra tix to the Champs Bowl in Orlando Saturday afternoon OR is anyone going and setting up a tailgate? Buddy of mine and I were considering driving up there--he went to Wisconsin and we've been to the last five bowl games they've been in: a Music City, two Cap Ones and two Outbacks.

This stuff cannot be done with a BCS playoff? Sounds like southern propaganda.

regretfully, viking611, will NOT be attending this year's Outback Bowl festivities! It was a 5% chance of not happening and that 5 percent has happened! Have plans to be in Minneapolis on the 3rd so this just won't work out.

Pains me to say it....was truly looking forward to a return trip to Tampa.

To all it may concern..........

Will be in the NORTH endzone parking lot at 7am..........in a van($19.95 on side).

Look for a grill, a six-foot cooler with 100+ beers, and a competitive cornhole game in progress.

Also............

Attending the Clearwater Beach party on the 30th from 11-4 pm, and then on to the Tampa Convention Center for the traditional bowl game "Hawkeye Huddle"(20.000+ Hawk fans getting wasted).

On the 31st, attending the parade in YBOR at 5pm............will be at the Green Inguana.

All's Well in Iowa Camp
Posted 12/26/2008 7:11 PM CST on Des Moines Register
Iowa is now two up on South Carolina:
Not only have Hawkeye officials sold more tickets to the Jan. 1 Outback Bowl than South Carolina, but coach Kirk Ferentz’s team doesn’t appear to have any academic problems.
“I think we’re all right,” Ferentz said after practice Friday.
South Carolina had to rule three players ineligible for the game after they failed to pass at least credit hours.
Iowa worked out about two hours Friday. Linebacker A.J. Edds has a sore shoulder, but he vowed to be ready for the game.
“For sure,” he said.
***
Haven’t seen a lot of Iowa fans yet, but it’s still early.
***
Check out what was sitting in the parking lot at the University of Tampa, where the Hawkeyes are practicing:
