Likely, one of the top three wins it unless they all get injured. Jahvid Best is the real deal from Cal but being on the West Coast, he won't be seen enough by the East Coast writers to get the votes no matter how good a year he might have.

The player with the best chance at the longest odds is Jahvid Best +1000. I think the Heisman Committee/voters will be looking to put a RB in the serious running for the prize after all of the QB's that we've seen the last couple of years. Best is the obvious choice.

No Jewell Hampton?

Well, redshirt freshman Jeff Brinson will be taking yards away from Hampton.

Much like Hampton took yards away from Shonn Greene last year, and although it didnt cost Greene the Heisman, it almost did.............at least Greene won award for the best RB in the nation.

How can you have a list with two Illini players on it, with zero chance of winning? The one who has a chance because of the soft schedule and weapons - Jimmy Claussen, isn't on the list. You want value, there it is.

Mark Ingram to appear on cover of this week's Sports Illustrated

By Gentry Estes, Mobile Press-Register

November 24, 2009, 11:55AM

Sports Illustrated has confirmed rumors that Alabama tailback Mark Ingram does indeed appear on the cover of this week's issue. ...

It's a very timely honor for Ingram, despite what you may believe about the SI cover jinx. With ballots for this year's Heisman Trophy having already been issued, a cover story from SI could be publicity gold for Ingram in that award hunt.
Consider also that the story on Ingram was written by Selena Roberts, whose work is among the most recognizable in the industry.
The story takes up five pages. It is titled " 'Bama's Backbone" and focuses on the relationship between Ingram and his father Mark Sr., a former NFL player who watches his son's games from a correctional facility in New York.

Tsk tsk tsk. Has to be an offensive skill player on a top 5 team. If not, then a top 20 team, period. Total crap.

I think this year is easy if you watch a lot of football (prerequisite to cast a valid vote).

Suh from Nebraska and it ain't close. He gets dbl teamed every (90+%) play and leads his team in tackles(unreal for an interior lineman). he drops back in coverage and has a pick or two as well as a handful of defensed passes. Blocks kicks on special teams.

He's so good that his other tackle will get all Big 12 as well.

Again, games have to be watched and it's more than pure stats.

Suh is the best football player this year and NU's defense would be avg at best without him. Instead, watch Big Red give Texas all it wants Dec 5
