10 wins not out of the question. Too bad they don't have Illinois, would be a very good game.

If they play like they have played today then they will be lucky to get 2 wins.

What an absolutely pathetic effort. There's a very good chance that they are going to lose to this awful UNI team. I'm pulling for them to win though, I have them in a parlay on the ML.

7-0gotts go over!!!!\

The Hawkeyes (7-0) took the lead on a 10-yard touchdown run by Adam Robinson early in the fourth quarter and their defense did the rest, holding the Badgers scoreless in the second half.
Stanzi was 17 of 23 for 218 yards and a touchdown, Derrell Johnson-Koulianos caught eight passes for 113 yards and cornerback Amari Spievey had two interceptions.
With Ohio State's loss to Purdue, the Hawkeyes (3-0 Big Ten) now are in the driver's seat for the conference championship and a BCS bowl berth. They've shown plenty of poise on the road along the way, having rallied from a 10-0 deficit at Penn State earlier this season.

Better than expected, but their schedule turned out to be below average....their rushing game has to improve also....but they are on a level above most teams in the country....above average team...team that sneaks into the top ten...

The IOWA defense thus far has just been outstanding, and their punter is on pace to win the RAY GUY Award, if not the Heisman Trophy.

IOWA 8th in the coaches poll and 7th in the AP poll that was just released.........they should be ranked 6th or 7th when the official BCS Standings are released later.

A win next week AT MSU would propel them into the top five in the BCS rankings...........

Iowa's thrilling joyride won't end in BCS title game

An 8-0 record, crazy comebacks and road success guarantee the Hawkeyes nothing on the national scene. But for their fans, it's been one heck of a run.

Enjoy it while it lasts, Hawkeyes: There's no room for you in the nation's elite.

EAST LANSING, Mich. — First the blocked field goals in the opener, then the comeback in the Happy Valley rain. Now add The Play — Ricky Stanzi to Marvin McNutt — to an Iowa Hawkeyes season that makes them this year's team of destiny.

Iowa 15, Michigan State 13 goes down among the most thrilling finishes anyone in Spartan Stadium on Saturday night will ever experience. But the final score has a more pressing meaning. It kept the Hawkeyes undefeated, among the nation's top 10 and thinking that this season could end with a chance at a championship bigger than the Big Ten.

"Most definitely," Iowa running back Adam Robinson said. "You always have that feeling in the back of your mind, of where this is all going to go. And how this might end for us."

If only Robinson were a realist. Pardon the youngster, he's but a freshman. He's wrapped up in the litany of things that have fallen for Iowa in 2009: Heck, how many teams fall behind on a touchdown set up by a hook-and-lateral, yet still rally to win the game?

Yet the Hawks' 8-0 record, and their crazy comebacks, and their road success (four wins over teams with a combined 21-9 record) guarantee them nothing on the national scene.

Most years, Iowa's ability to endure a 12-game schedule and stay unbeaten would be enough to squeeze into the national championship game. Just two years, a two-loss LSU team met one-loss Ohio State in the BCS title game.

But this year, there's no room for Iowa in the nation's elite. The SEC is sending a team to the national championship game. Texas looks to have righted itself, and with much of the Big 12 playing Sun Belt-level football, the Longhorns can make reservations for the title game, too.

Don't even bother with the debate, the matching of opponents' Sagarin ratings and the strengths of conferences. As magical as Iowa's ride has been, the ceiling has been established. To answer Robinson's pondering, the Hawkeyes will do no better than a Jan. 1 game in the Rose Bowl.

Feel free to blame the system or to argue until your cheeks turn scarlet (and gray) that these Hawkeyes are being punished for the poor postseason play of their Big Ten peers. Or take the approach Iowa's players embraced here after their win.

We can't control the rest of the country. We're just enjoying what we've got going.

"We don't compare ourselves to other teams," defensive end Adrian Clayborn said. "They do what they do. We do what we do."

If the Hawkeyes keep doing what they're doing, they'll earn Big Ten championship rings and a permanent place in school lore. They might get another spot in history, too — next to Auburn's 2004 team as a perfect, BCS conference squad that didn't get a chance to play for it all.

That's an issue for December, at least to these guys. They're too busy providing another heart-stopping Saturday for their fans. And if destiny for them ends up nothing more than that, they say they're fine with it.

At least for now.

First off........

Iowa could lose one, two, three, or all of their four remaining games.
However, if they should run the table, the ONLY, I repeat, ONLY team that will keep them out of the title game against the SEC champion is the Texas Longhorns.

No one loss BCS CONFERENCE TEAM has ever overtaken a no loss team in the final two spots of the BCS.........and if Iowa runs the table, they WILL finish higher then TCU, CINCY, and BOISE STATE in the final BCS standings.

Basically, if Iowa runs the table and Texas losses............IOWA is practically a given to make the title game.

The biggest obstacle for Iowa to overcome is STAYING UNBEATEN, nothing more, nothing less............and they are currently a sizable UNDERDOG to accomplish such a feat, as they will be an underdog in one of those games and still have to win the other three, thus why they are definetly a sizable underdog of staying unbeaten.

Now keep in mind, Iowa does not necessarily have to have Texas lose to make the title game, if Alabama or Florida slips up and losses before their title game and then beats the other in the SEC title game.......TEXAS and IOWA would meet for the title most likely if they are both unbeaten.

What's hilarious and idiotic of the national media is that we hear 15x more about Iowa's close wins then we do USC's loss to Washington, an average team at best, and that is being kind to the Huskies.

i still think there will be only 1 undefeated team at the end of the regular season.

iowa still has osu
texas is at ok st this weekend
florida still goes to sc and hosts fsu
alabama has lsu and at auburn

iowa has the easiest schedule by far the rest of the way. they will be dd faves in all games but 1, and have no big 10 title game to blow.
