trent & sdf, that was also the line I had for ole miss which was the reason I played memphis when I saw + dd at opener. I hope it falls below a td, but I dont expect it to, since ole miss is expected to get off the floor this season and play a little bit.
btw, 8ate, where the heck have you been hiding the past year? Good to see you made it back. Ol' Bancroft High has their hands full among an improved conf this season. I'll tell the boys in Maumee you are still alive and kickin'.
I dont usually write up picks, but Ill write this one up since coach and I talked about this game the other day.
add:
4* AKRON +28 bought half
I sniffed Akron when I saw the opener but since it was very close to the line I had, I didnt play it at +28. Yesterday I noticed it was 27.5 and after further reading I decided to play akron +28. I did buy the half pt, but ONLY because the original line was no longer available. I normally would not buy a half pt in this situation.
Historically, Wisconsin just doesnt blow out many teams. Wisc has key defensive players still hampered by lingering injuries. Very deep along offensive line and of course a stable or rb.
However, Akron is used to playing the big timers. Akron has played vs. respectfully vs the big ten the past several years. They also went into nc st and won outright in 2006. Last season they went into Columbus and battled Ohio State to a 20-2 final...I believe that game was 3-2 at halftime. Akron has a couple new rbs that have transferred from Miami and Ohio St, decent DL (one trans from virg and a a 300 lb dt trans from Iowa), respectable OL, playmakers on special teams (nations leading returning kr & pr) and a decent coach.
Wisc avg 29.5 ppg last season and are laying 4td to an akron team that has some weapons to put a few scores on the board and stay within this large doggie line.
They are really moving #. Trent and sooners you guys were correct about Michigan/Utah game the line was 5.5 and its now at 4. I was hoping for an opener above a td so I could back Utah, but now Im looking at possibly backing Michigan if line falls below a fg.
