Hey guys I was thinking if we all discussed the totals in here we can come up with some good bets for the year based on everyones opinions on what would be good value and win some cash. I will tally at the end of the week to see what everyone likes

I'll break it down by Division

Eastern Conference

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 109pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=145 border=0 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 61pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2962" width=81><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" width=64><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; WIDTH: 61pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=81 height=17 x:str="Boston ">Boston </TD><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT-COLOR: windowtext; WIDTH: 48pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" align=right width=64 x:num>53.5</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17 x:str="Philadelphia ">Philadelphia </TD><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" align=right x:num>48.5</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>New York</TD><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" align=right x:num>32.5</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17 x:str="Toronto ">Toronto </TD><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" align=right x:num>47.5</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>New Jersey</TD><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-TOP-COLOR: windowtext; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" align=right x:num>27.5</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Boston- 53.5
Phila- 48.5
New York- 32.5
Toronto- 47.5
New Jersey- 27.5

Boston- I think that 53.5 is alot my only concern is that if one of the big 3 get hurt this could finish high 40's but not over 50

Philadelphia- ok I am from philly and love the sixers but I still like this total here The sixers are going to be really good this eyar they have a ton of young talent (iggy, young, spreights, lou will) and they signed brand. top it off with a new 3 point threat with marshall and miller handling the ball I think the will be the biggest surprise

New York- 32.5 seems high and I am just not sure about this team this year. how will the D'antoni style of offense come in to play? is marbury going to continue to be a distraction?, im not sure if im sold on chris duhon being the go to point guard. this one is tough

Toronto-This is way to high. With the addition of O' Neal I dont think that gets them many more wins especially since he is never healthy. Will Jose Calderon be as good as everyone says he can be and is Sam Mitchell going to get this team to that many wins. Sure he is trying to change his style
http://www.thestar.com/article/507385
But I dont think it will work

New Jersey- Vince Carter (2.3 injuries per year) will get hurt again and they will be in the basement yet again, is 28 to much to ask for this team i think so

Ok I will add more as I can

I think we can win some mad cash this year guys lets do it

Central

Detroit 50.5
Indiana 35.5
Milwaukee 30.5
Cleveland 48.5
Chicago 40.5

Detroit- they have had at least 50 wins for 7 straight years. With stuckey and maxiell playing great and will prob be better this year, some of you guys may know this total better to see if they have what it takes to win 50 or more again this year

Indiana- new addiitons of Jack and Ford may help this team. Is their best player Mike Dunleavy? that cant be good for any team

Milwaukee- ok is it me or this total low? they have a great group of guys with redd, jefferson and bogut. Bell and Ridnour at point and Charlie at the 3/4 should be a great combo. Joe Alexander should have a great year and Skiles should be able to lead this team to at least 30-35 wins

Cleveland- last 3 years 50,50,45 wins The whole thing as we know comes down to Lebron James...will he be able to carry this team all year again?

Chicago- I dont know much about this team this year. I have toread more about them to get a feel on how they will be this year

Southeast

Orlando 47.5
Atlanta 36.5
Washington 38.5
Miami 37.5
Charlotte 36.5

Orlando- I think what might kill this team this year is their bench. I dont see anybody really effective on there. I do like the addition of Pietrus but not to sure they will get above 45 wins

Atlanta- No Childress this year and I think that will be a big loss. The startign 5 looks to be Joe Smith, Johnson, Bibby, Horford and Williams. I like Acie Law alot and they also got Flip Murray this year, they made the playoffs last year and may be able to continue to play between the 35-40 win range.

Washington- Gilbert being out in til Jan makes me not sure if I can touch this one. but they could go back and forth with wins and losses until he comes back , be under 500 and still make the palayoffs

Miami- to me I really like this one. I think the Heat start out sluggish with Wade and Beasely getting use to each other and then coming on strong. Marion should be a great compliment with these 2 and Haslem should be able to get boards for them to. As long as Wade's knew is ok and it seems like it is, this should be a good bet

Charlotte- Larry Brown in as coach and I have to wonder if he will have a tough year. Richardson is a nice 3 point threat and Wallace was a scorer last year. Okafor I would think has a better season this year and Muhammed should help the team. I like DJ Augustin and I believe he is starting this year

Detroit getting long in the tooth in a few positions though. New coach this season after letting Flip go, I would say under there.

What is the status of Dudly, Morrison, and May for Charlotte? Those will be key for Coach Brown and the Bobcats

i think 40 for the bulls is high, they're full of a lot of guys who are good players by themselves but not good players on a team. 33-36 is where im guessing they'll end up they just have not looked good at all even with rose.

i like boston under 53.5, philly under 48.5, toronto over 47.5, detroit over 50.5 and miami under 37.5 out of those. milwaukee over 30.5 also seems very strong.

Toronto might have the talent to win the East this year, although I am still a little worried that they could be too soft inside. O'Neal can change that though.

Western Conference

SouthWest Division

New Orleans- 51.5
Houson Rockets- 53.5
San Antonio Spurs-49.5
Dallas Mavericks-47.5
Memphis Grizzlies-23.5

New Orleans- I would say over here. they won 56 last year and they add Posey and Brown this year. I think Chris Paul would get them to this number and with West and Peja will have solid years again

Houston Rockets- This one is popular with alot of people I noticed. Ron Artest joins this team and they also added a 3 point shooter -(Barry) and DJ Strawberry. The biggest worry here is if Yao and Tracey can stay helathy. I like the Artest and Scola up front and they have a great man off the bench is Battier, they should get above 50

San Antonio Spurs- The spurs play great every year, the last 8 years they have won 55 or more games . Now they are older and add Roger Mason and Salim Stoudamire. Their defense always keeps them in games, but my concern is the health of Ginobili and his ankle, with him out I think they are missing a key scorer.

Dallas Mavericks- They bring in Rick Carlisle, and if Nowitski, Howard, Terry, and Stackhouse all stay healthy, they may make a few runs along the way. They tried to add rebounding help in Diop , I guess Dampier isnt good enough to start all the time.

Memphis Grizzlies- OJ Mayo,Jaric, Walker are in for this team and they lost Mike Miller, Navarro ,Kwame and Collins. They got rid of Gasol and everyone seems to write them off. I think this total is to low, They have Mayo and a great player in Rudy Gay. Add in the fact that Conley will be good at the point and Lowry should do well to. They added more 3 pointers with Walker. I figure they win at least 15 games they are supposed to win and I think we can get at least 10 upsets.

Pacific Division

La Lakers-55.5
Phoenix Suns-47.5
La CLippers-34.5
Golden State Warriors-37.5
Sacramento Kings-28.5

La Lakers- The total is high and I'm not sure if they can get that high again. Kobe hyperextended his knee and Im sure it will come back to haunt him again in the middle of the year. They didnt really add or lose anybody of value . They do have Gasol for a full season now and this is Odom's chance to really step up this year. Falton and Walton off the bench should really help them.

Phoenix Suns- This one could be hard to figure out. Nash, Amare and Shaq should be able to get a ton of wins if they all play together. The role players Hill, Barnes , and Barbosa should improve their numbers from, last year. With Shaq and Hill always hurt will this lower the number? No D'Antoni but they have Terry Porter. I wonder if he will be able to help them focus on defense

La Clippers- The good news; They got the Baron, Camby this year. The bad news; They also got Ricky Davis and lost Brand, and Magette. They are one of the few teams who actually have a center (Kaman) Thorton and Mobley should also help the team offensively. If Baron and Camby) stays helathy (Finger, Heal) I think they could at least get 35 wins.

Goldebn State Warriors- They got Magette and lost David and Pietrus. Golden State could be in trouble this year. All this drama going on with Monta Ellis and I dont feel confident with Marcus Williams as the point guard. Its pretty much Stephen Jackson and Magette show and I dont think that will get it done

Sacramento- they lost Artest,Ab Rahim and Wright and gained Bobby Jackson and Jason Thompson. Kevin Martin is pretty much this whole team here I dont feel Udrih, Salmons,Moore and Miller will get anything done. I think that may be the worst lineup out of every team. But can I bet under when Vegas did such a nice job of making the total so low to begin with

NorthWest Division

Utah Jazz-51.5
Portland Trail Blazers-45.5
Denver Nuggets-40.5
Minnesota Twolves-30.5
Oklahoma City Thunder- 25.5

Utah Jazz- Noone significant lost or gained. They had a great year last year but they werent good enough to beat LA. They will have 3 point scorer Korver for the whole year now and they should have no problem getting into the 50's. It is pretty much last years team and that won 50+

Portland Trail Blazers- They have Bayless, Diogu in this year and loss Jarret Jack. The man Greg Oden will be playing this year and this team could be going places. Brandon Roy and Aldridge are tremendous shooter Blake is a solid guard and Przybilla as a center. This is going to be an extremely tall team this year. Without Oden they had 40 wins I think this year with the added ability and how well they run the floor they can get closer to 50

Denver Nuggets- No real additions and they lost Camby and Najera. Anthony and Iverson were the whole team last year. They had 50 wins last year and they get Nene back. With Camby gone that should hurt this team more than they think. They will be an even worse defensive team this year.

Minnesota Twins- They got Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Carney, Booth and lost Jaric and Walker. This team is led by Jefferson and the offense should improve when they drafted Kevin Love. Foye and Miller will be their 3 point weapons and Gomes is a good back up. They had 22 wins last year and im not sure they will be able to get to 30. This is an extremely young team and it will be tough to get wins.

Oklahoma City- They added Westbrook Joe Smith and Mason. They were a 20 win team last year. This is Durants team and he has Wilcox and Collins to help him score. Westbrook should have an impressive rookie year. It is a low number but is this team ready to be a 30+ win team?

I still am not sold on Toronto, they were a 500 team last year. Do you think they get 45-50 wins?In the last 4 years Jermaine has played more than 55 games once. Even if he was healthy I think thats only a 3 or 4 game improvement and thats still under.

i love ATL over 36.5 They have the same starting 5 as last year and towards the end of the year (especially giving the Celtics a close call in the first round) they really seemed to mesh together. Although i agree the loss of Childress really hurts, i still think this team can get 40 wins easy in the Eastern Conference

Last years team underperformed imo. They could have won around 48 games last year, but had some injuries and had some poor stretches where they really looked bad. This team has talent though and if O'Neal gets back to all star status in toronto they can contend with boston for the division. toronto has a better overall team than philly imo. Philly was under .500 last year if I remember right and now they need almost 50 wins to go over? Way too much change just because of Brand. He is a great player, but doesn't change the team to that extreme amount, and is injury prone.

With the West not going to be as good as it once was- Ginobili out, Marion gone, Camby gone, Baron and Camby hurt, Ellis suspended, Dallas not being that good I think the top 4 should dominate on the list

Out of the 4 I like

Utah Over 51.5
New Orleans over 51.5

For the rest of the West I will bet
Portland Over 44.5- Oden gives them that push and they 45-48 wins
Golden State Under 37.5- This team is really bad and with Ellis suspended for 30 games I dont think Williams at the point wins games
Minnesota Under 30.5- This young team will make two many mistakes and love will not be the answer to more wins
La Clippers Over 34.5- Im taking a chance on this one, If Davis and Camby get healthy they can get to 35 wins at least

With the East alot of teams have high win totals. I love the Sixers and i'm just not sure if they can get to that many wins, I also am going to stay away from Boston because I feel that line is to high

Detroit over 50.5- I cant go against them every year they win 50+ games I dont see that being different
Bucks over 30.5- this isnt my pick but someones who opinion I like and has me sold
Washington Under 38.5-No Areanas means no wins and they will have a hard time getting to this total
Atlanta over 36.5- They made the playoffs last year and I know they lost Childress but I still think this teams wins 40 this year. Bibby will keep them in the game
Miami over 37.5- Love this team this year and think with Wade healthy and Marion playing the whole year this team will go nowhere but up
