New Jersey Devils -130 (Over the TB Lightning)

let me first start things off by saying our resident "mother pucker" Bobby Bryde likes the other side in this one. well, just as i told him tuesday night when he told me philly was the side to take vs. ottawa and i liked the other side (ok - i got lucky with that pick - i'll agree to that) my side will once again be the winner here.

i post this pick not knowing if scott stevens will be playing for NJ in this one after taking a puck off the head in G3. because he is a hockey player i sense he will play. if he doesn't, that might actually be better, for NJ will not forget the play that took him out and will use it to get even more motivated.

nj played an awful 1st period monday then controlled the rest of the game. we all saw pat burns' tirade just before the TB GWG (for the record the ref was 100% right in what he did - burns was trying to pull a fast one and got caught) but on that play NJ hit the post on a shot that beat "khabbie" and bounced away. if that puck goes in - game and series over.

in looking back over the season, when martin brodeur plays a bad game - he is money to follow it up with a stellar one. broduer let in a pair of rather soft goals and rest assured on wednesday there will be NO softies let in by martin - NONE! tampa will have to earn every goal they get - and they won't be getting many (olympic has TB U2 goals -105 --- something worth playing for there is NO WAY TB gets 3 goals here - NONE - meaning a push at worst).

i know TB has had decent success against NJ but that was in the regular season and this is the playoffs. TB has had a very nice run so far - and they made me A LOT of $$$ in their series against the choking capitals.

but their run comes close to an end tonite - in what will be their last home game of the 2002-03 season.

this one might not be pretty - but when the game is over and one team walks off the ice the winner - that team WILL be the NJ devils - you can rest assured of that one.

i have no idea which way this line will move - but if it goes TB's way those plays will lose.

New Jersey Devils "Pick -130" in G4 will be my 2003 NHL P'off GOY!

I don't like the OVER at all.
Brodeur gives up 0 or 1 goal
in this game. I'm laying off this one.

I'm with you, Winky. The Devils can be very dangerous when given a wakeup call (witness the 2000 ECF and their 2001 playoff run after dropping a couple of games to the Hurricanes).

I'm all over the Devils tonight.
