Well OK, of course it is Thanksgiving, so what else do we have to do before the football starts, but still a nice following.

Strange that only 400 of those 2000 are registered though! This brings up the point that we should try and not use real names in threads if you know what I mean. For that matter, dont even discuss hometowns

By the way, has anyone ever had this problem with a playstation 2?

My sons playstation 2 is a year old or so. Now all of a sudden when we try and turn it on, it lights up for about 2 seconds (red light on) then turns off. DO you guys think that it only the power cord?

I have a feeling that I will just buy a new one this weekend. They are only $149 and you get 2 free games and a free controller if I buy one this weekend.

I wanted to get an XBOX, but we already have 12 games and I guess that we have 2 controllers that still work, so I am already divested in playstation. Has anyone ever had a problem like this?

PO I think it might be the power cord...the Xbox has came down to 149..he will LOVE that way more then PS2 imo

players....you could get a refurbished ps2 from gamestop, EB, lots of games stores have them.....of if you get a new one, they have a new ps2 that is like 1/3 the size of the original and comes with a network adaptor for online play i believe

call up sony, talk to them, and they will give you an address to ship it to. wait about 10 days and they will send you your PS2 back all fixed up. granted, i didn't have the same problem as you mentioned but they fixed mine up for free and sent it right back to me. i would try that before you shell out 150.
