-200 or better

Is it just me, or has it been a while since a team favored by -200 or more has lost (knock on wood - I know the astros are beating the dodgers right now). But it seems like it's been atleast a week...maybe around 7-8 games. Anybody know officially when the last loss for a -200 or better team was? They seem to be winning a lot these days

I recall the Red Sox losing just a few weeks ago to the Royals I think.

yeah it definitely happened a few weeks ago. But I consider even 9-10 -200 wins or better to be a little eerie for baseball season.

Including St Louis today, the Big Favs (-200 or higher) were on a 8-0 run.

Have to go back to Sat 7/11 to find a loser when Oak beat Garza and Tampa. Tampa was a -210 fav that day at the close.

According to Vegasinsider.com, the last -200 or better team to lose was the -200 red sox (penny) against the royals (hochevar) on thursday, july 9th. That's 13 wins in a row prior to this pending dodgers game. Vegasinsider has garza and tampa bay listed at -181 on july 11th.

They closed at -175 at Bodog on Fri night. Bodog shades the favs. Not likely anyone had a higher line than that.

Technically, Tampa did close close at -200 at a few vegas/online books on July 9th. But I would say they closed below -200 at 90% of the books. I think we can say it has legitimately been 13 wins in a row for -200 or better teams. Though 8 in a row is enough to be considered a trend as well. Plus the dodgers still have a chance to keep the streak alive
