Some 20 years ago, I personally put on a display at the old EL RANCHO in Vegas that is still talked about by some inner circle of posters here at the RX.

I stopped in at approximently 5pm one evening with my buddy Kyhawk just to play roulette for a few bucks and snag a couple free drinks for each of us.

To make a long story short, I didnt leave that table until 9 o'clock.......the next morning!!

I sat there and played roulette and drank for 16 hours!!

I can only remember bits of pieces of the evening.

I remember on NUMEROUS occassions, everytime a new dealer would come to the table, I would put $500 on black and $500 on red.........and the dealer would be stunned. I would tell them it was to see how lucky you are for me.

Understand, the best scenario with this is that I breakeven and if God forbid a 0 or 00 appear, I would be out $1,000.

I dont recall ever losing one of these the entire night.

In the wee hours of the morning, I was virtually the ONLY person in the entire casino playing a table game............I had like 3 pit bosses watching me play roulette. LMFAO. I am sure I was quite loud. But wtf, there was nbody in the joint.

Remember one time falling backwards and lying on the floor after a tough beat and just laying there until the pit boss told me to get up.....sort of like the Nick Cage move in the movie LEAVING LAS VEGAS.

Well, I must have had well over 30 beers by the time my little fiasco was over and I had lost about $1,200.

I remember walking out of the casino and feeling the heat of the sun. Asked a tourist what time it was and they said 9 o'clock and I thought to myself it sure stays bright out late here in Vegas

.........thinking it was 9pm and not 9am!

Got back to the Frontier hotel where I was staying at and ordered a $30 breakfast that consisted of 6 eggs, a pound of hash browns, 2 lbs of bacon, and a gallon of iced tea and whatever else( I ordered three breakfast platters).

Got my composure together and went downstairs and bet a dime on some game to recoup my losses.........and it won as I recall.

Long night in Vegas as a young lad.

LOL!!

One of the more lucrative casinos ever for overpay machines.......as I am sure you can attest to.

Get this and I am not kidding when I say this.............about 3-4 weeks before they closed up for good, I dumped some trash in the corner of the casino..............three days later when I came back.........IT WAS STILL THERE!!!

It was like a Bud bottle, an empty package of chips, and a cigar..........knew without a shadow of a doubt it was what I left there 3 days previous.

Remember the El Rancho well, it was a dump but after a few beer and especially if you are winning a little who cares. Loved the old Vegas.

Serious question, Fish.

What does a "tough beat" or bad beat in roulette look like?
