1. Tampa Bay 27, Eagles 10, 2003 NFC Championship, Jan. 19, Veterans Stadium: Nearly every long-suffering Philly fan smelled the Super Bowl. This was to be the emotional rescue for an entire lost generation. Instead it was the most crushing disappointment in Philly history.

3. Edmonton 3, Flyers 1, Game 7, 1987 Stanley Cup Finals, May 31, Edmonton: Flyers won thrilling Game 6 at the Spectrum to force first Game 7 in Finals since 1971. Losing goalie Ron Hextall won Conn Smythe.

5. New Jersey 2, Flyers 1, Game 7, 2000 Eastern Conference Finals, May 26, First Union Center: Eric Lindros' last stand. He was decked early by Scott Stevens for concussion No. 6 - his fourth in five months. Devils came back from a 1-3 series deficit.
6. Bears 20, Eagles 12, 1988 NFC divisional playoff, Dec. 31, Soldier Field: The Fog Bowl. Maybe Buddy Ryan's best team. One Eagles TD called back, a Randall Cunningham pass dropped in the end zone by Keith Jackson. Cunningham threw for 407 yards.
