From my seat they obviously have looked uninspired. I say at year's end they will still win it easily.

While it is still very early days in MLB. I don't think the Yanks were ever a "Lock" to win it. Favored yes, lock absolutely not. They are still the favorites, but far from odds on.

Wil- I honestly do not make them a favorite over the Red Sox.

In betting circles possibly, in reality, no.

The Red Sox pitching staff appears to be MORE than a tad better than the Yanks.

Thought that before the season, and even think it more so now.

Possibly just wishful thinking, but that is my observation at this point.

ps- Plus, I think when they get Nixon and Nomar back healthy, their offense is close to being on par with them also.

RPM- If you ever get a chance to watch the D-Rays, dont pass it up.

They are gutsy and give all out 100% of the time.

They have speed to burn!!

I would love to see them in first at least until May 1st.......a prediction I made before the season started.

They start a 3 game series in Fenway where they will face Lowe, Wakefield, and Pedro.

If they were to win that series, it would be impressive.

The one thing that seems valid when it comes to baseball as opposed to other sports is the fact that cameraderie is more important than talent. Teams with small payrolls like the floridas, etc. can take that good vibe a lot further than a team with a bunch of superstars who don't get along.

inspades,

i seriously doubt they will lose 100 games. they are a very much improved team this year. good luck with your bet, but you are way to confident.

I wouldn't put Boston in front of NY if Torre was managing in Boston and Steinbrenner was the owner. Its obvious that Boston themselves knows they can't beat the Yanks when it counts. Their only shot is if someone else knocks NY out.

Perhaps the yanks won't get along and the egos will crash and they burn. Longshot, but who knows?
