oil is still trapped in the range but--- like you, i think the downside is limited...

yeah both dogs came thru last night, couple of nice hits...
as for the superbowl, im probably one of the lesser interested people that you will see... football is over for me.... i may glance at it this weekend and try to come up with a play, for watching purposes..
with what i do,,,,, here is what i see for thursday night.
i like:
Va Tech -1 (i know this isnt a dog but its early and you never know how the line may go later today), i think they beat clemson tonight.
St Mary's (ML) purely a system play with what i do, definatley worth a shot on a better than (3:1) payback.
ill play them both small.

Instead of investing in a particular stock or futures, look at some indexes. There are a few out there you can get in, one in particular is simply XOI, the AMEX oil index. You can look it up, it might be listed with the NYSE now, they took over the AMEX. Anyway do a litle research and check out any related indexes and you can trade options with them if you feel so inclined, but SSI is right, they are for the big boys if you go with "naked options" a term used for options only without the stock.

everyone knows the overall shape of the market and economy but that concerns me little, as im a short term trader..... i did not say "day trader".. there is a huge difference..
with have heavy downside pressure this morning and my market (ESH09) has made a low of 854.50
im going to buy the emini (esh09) today at 851.25, so i need it to drop a little further...
ill be using a limit order, so i must have a trade down to 851.00 to get filled... once i enter, i then want a bounce in the market. ill be risking 14pts ($700) on this trade, if engaged... that is my intital risk and i will never increase that...
if i get in, ill try and update it.... if anyone is interested.
this is the biggest form of legalized gambling in america and nobody knows about it.... i can trade basically 24hrs each day in this market, from sunday afternoon (6pm) until friday afternoon 3:15 pm cst... virtually non-stop...

i cant baby sit it all day but i dont have to.... $50 for every pt that it moves higher or lower...
im now Long, so i want it to go back up... will look at exit strategy later, may post it..
never much interest here for this, might as well be talking chineese... if you guys only knew.

i forget where i learned this.... i think an old Ken Roberts course, he is no better than touts but i think that is where i picked it up..
different ways to do this..... ive traded anything from (silver to beans) but now only the emini sp 500..
to update this trade...
i did enter the long side at 851 and was dead on, in my assumptions, as we only dropped to 850.50 and then bounced to 859....
sadly to say the rally failed at that point and now the market sits at 854 again..
i dont like the way this trade is shaping up and will probably exit right here with a $150 profit...
not great but not bad for a couple hours..
consider me out..
ill re-evaluate and may enter again later...
you can trade this market (with stops) in place for a small amount of money but its financial suicide if you dont know what your doing..
i suggest, just google commodity trading and start your journey..
i have traded with same broker for 13yrs now and would be glad to help anyone interested in this (no strings attached) via email or right here, all you have to do is ask...
in at 851.00, out at 854.00...... cancel all working orders..
