a voter could rationalize he's already seen the body of work and he's not changing his mind
or he doesn't want a extra game to give one candidate an unfair advantage / disadvantage over another candidate

There are people who vote for the Heisman that no longer cover college football.
I mean, breaking an all purpose record set by Barry Sanders is pretty impressive and something that should be considered when voting no? And it wasn't broken until after the guy played USC.
