It just seems like when these kinds of trends are told or made more aware of, they lose. I compare it to the announcer jinx in basketball games when they mention how many free throws a player has made without being missed or how many field goals a kicker has made in a row.

gow as in cow deed. in the day you'd think you were all set, and then here comes Gowdy with some stat that Madden is 33-0 when leading after 3 quarters....and all you need is him to win,,,and then the impossible happens. Like when Gary Anderson missed that kick after not missing all year.

Another example how old I'm getting when posters never heard Curt Gowdy's name pronounced. I remember when Gowdy and Al DeRegatis (sp) were in the booth. Great announcer.
