Zero this century.

Yankees unfair advantage never more clear than the past 10 years...

From 1965 to 1995 the mighty Yankees won 2 WS and they were back to back....so many teams in MLB had more success than NY in that span.

and no WS titles in the new millenium, take away the 'buy your title' mentality of the past 10 years and this is just another organization.:finger: :finger: :finger:

NY been trying to buy titles since 1976, with a HUGE advantage over just about every other team.

from catfish hunter to reggie to mussina, big unit , giambi, a-rod its been like this for 30 years....

Atleast the Braves have done it legitimately in comparison.

The 14 straight division titles is a nice accomplishment but I'm not that impressed for several reasons. They've only won one World Series during that period. They've clearly outspent teams in their division during that stretch. Their pitchers, mainly Maddux and Glavine, have been given a strike zone wider than the Grand Canyon.

I think Bobby Cox is a poor in-game manager. He's been badly outmanaged in many postseason games. The Braves and Bobby Cox will do their laundry again this postseason.

1 World Series in 16 straight post season trips is nothing to brag or be proud about. Cox is just like Schottenheimer. They suck when it counts. I would rather my team not even make the p[layoffs then go and get embarrased. Gosh I hate Ted Turner and his traitor liberal wife!:smoker2:

I agree, this is a bit of a dubious distinction. Kinda early 90's Buffalo Bills-ish. While the 14 straight divisions is impressive, the 1-for-14 WS is pretty ugly.

This year was a bit different though. Chipper Jones said last night that this might be his favorite division title because it was so unexpected. Can't argue with that, it was very unexpected for me too.

Chop this team reminds me of the mid 90's team. It's more complete and a good mix of young players. Most of these teams have weak bullpens so don't go crazy there....I think the Braves will be in the World Series this year. Write it down.

.....and that has an * attached to it as it was done during a strike shortened year.

So, 14 straight division titles and no legit championship.

-Fish-

They still played 156 games that season FISH. If you think 156 games is not enough to call a champion legit. Lets put an astrick next to every team that ever won a World Series before they went to a 162 game format.

Very weak:monsters-

This is simply not true Soccerbob. Why does everyone think the Braves have this huge budget? This is one of the biggest misconceptions in baseball. Currently the Braves are 4th out of 5 teams in there division in payroll. The Mets, Phillies and Marlins all have bigger payrolls than the Braves.

You need to stick to your Royal bashing. Ted Turner sold the Braves years ago. He has also been divorced from Jane Fonda for over 5 years. There is nothing embarrasing about being the best team in your division 14 years in a row.

I hope your right. On offense I would agree with you. Very simialar. Although the Braves bullpen was nothing to write home about back then, this year takes the cake. I believe this Braves team has the worst bullpen of any team that has ever made the playoffs. And this years starting rotation even though its good is not as good as those in the mid 90s. I have to say this is probably the worst Braves team of the 14 that have won titles.

Choptalk, they dont care about you so why do you care about them? I used to care about the steelers like this too but then I grew up. Its just a game played by spoiled millionaires who dont give a shit. Family and health are just a couple of things to actually take seriously. Not some dopey baseball team. They laugh at people like you who care more then they do. Do you even sleep the night before Braves games? Cmon dude.

What they have in Atlanta is a "Baseball Program", Its great for baseball and I love the way they do it. They nurture the young players and give them a real chance to succeed!

And Royal Sportsbook does not give a shit about you.So why do you care about them. Or any other sportsbook for that matter. At least the Braves dont cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars like the sportsbooks do for you. Cmon dude.

Thats just the point. Sports is just a bet. You are right about your point though. Royal doesnt care about the player. But believe me, they care about what Im doing now. Im just saying that when I was like 17 I used to care about my favorite teams. It would depress me when they lost. I just look at that now and it seems silly. Nothing personal. I love sports and love watching the playoffs and football even without a bet. Just lost interest in caring too much about my favorite teams. More important things like family and your health. Dont forget that. What happened in N.O was not some movie. People suffering all over the world and to take some team seriously just seems a little shallow and desperate.Gambling dates back to the begginning of times. Life is a trip huh?No hurt feelings.
